The lens has been on Nikon’s Z roadmap for a while.
The development announcement tells us that the new NIKKOR Z DX 18-140mm f/3.5-6.3 VR lens will be officially released in 2021. The lens will be useful for wide-angle, telephoto, and short distances – this indicates a short minimum focusing distance.
