Back in February I reported that Nikon will announce a new APS-C mirrorless camera in the first half of 2021 (Nikon Z30?). Today Nokishita confirmed that Nikon registered a new camera under the code name N2016 with Taiwan’s NCC (N2016 was already registered in Russia). Here are the details:
- Z-mount camera
- Uses Nikon EN-EL25 battery – the same battery as the Nikon Z50 (this means the new N2016 will most likely be the APS-C camera I reported)
- Compatible with Speedlite SB-5000, Stereo Microphone ME-1, Nikon UC-E24 (USB cable with a type C connector to type A connector)
- The new model is equipped with Wi-Fi (IEEE802.11b/g/n/a/ac) and Bluetooth
Nikon has already delayed several new lens announcements (I will have another post on that topic) – I am not sure if the new Nikon APS-C mirrorless camera was delayed as well. Official announcements usually happen 30-90 days after the product is registered online.
