What to expect next from Nikon?

Here is a recap of all the rumors I have gathered from multiple sources in the past few months (see my previous post – the new updates are in red):

Cameras

  • Nikon Z9II: still expected at the end of 2025 or early 2026 (there will probably be a teaser first, development announcement, etc)
  • Nikon Zr (or Zv): expected in September
  • Silver Nikon Zf

Lenses

  • Nikkor DX lenses for Z-mount:
    • One prime DX lens: 35mm f/1.8 macro or similar
    • One zoom DX lens: 16-50mm f/2.8 or similar
  • Full-frame Nikkor lenses for Z-mount:
    • Wide-angle lens: 14-24mm or 14mm or similar
    • Standard zoom: 24-105mm or similar
    • Nikkor Z 100-300mm or 120-300mm f/2.8 lens (rumored to be priced around $8000)
    • Nikkor Z 85mm f/1.4 (to match/complete the 35mm/50mm f/1.4 lenses)
    • More Nikkor Z cinema lenses

Please note that, given the current geopolitical situation, nothing is 100% confirmed for now. New product releases can be canceled or delayed.

This is the list of  new products Nikon announced so far this year:

That’s it – only three and it is almost August… As I already reported in January, 2025 will be a slow year for Nikon:

Nikon is expected/rumored to have a slow 2025 year (in terms of new product announcements)
