In addition to the major Z8 firmware update version 2.00, Nikon also released new software updates to NX Tether, NX Studio, and Camera Control Pro 2. Here are the details:
Nikon NX Tether Version 2.0.0:
- Added support for Z 8 firmware version 2.00.
- Added support for macOS Sonoma version 14.
- Ended support for macOS Big Sur version 11.
- The camera’s view through the lens can be viewed in live view in NX Tether.*
- Added functions to control the camera video recording feature from NX Tether.*

Nikon NX Studio Version 1.6.0:
- Added support for Z 8 firmware version 2.00.
- Added support for macOS Sonoma version 14.
- Ended support for macOS Big Sur version 11.
- Improved filtering operation when the “show sequences as single images” setting is disabled.
- Fixed the following issues:
- Could not enable [PF Flare Control] for a picture taken with a NIKKOR Z 600mm f/6.3 VR S lens.
- If NX Studio was started without network connection, an error message was shown.
- Pictures taken with [Clarity] set to [A] (auto) and [Contrast] to [-3] with D5, D850, D500, and D7500 cameras were not displayed correctly.
Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 Version 2.37.0:
- Added support for Z 8 firmware version 2.00.
- Added support for macOS Sonoma version 14.
- Ended support for macOS Big Sur version 11.
- Fixed the issue that you would not be able to immediately exit Camera Control Pro 2 if you turned the connected camera off after starting the Camera Control Pro 2.
