NIKON RELEASES VER. 1.1.0 OF THE SMARTPHONE APPLICATION NX MOBILEAIR
MELVILLE, NY (December 11, 2022) – Nikon is pleased to announce the release of Ver. 1.1.0 of NX MobileAir, a smartphone application that uploads images taken with Nikon digital cameras to an FTP1 server without using a computer. As part of this update, functions such as image filtering, which uses image analysis technologies, have been added or modified to improve speed and efficiency of workflows. An algorithm that uses deep learning to analyze images when importing has been added with Ver. 1.1.0. This allows user to filter images in specific criteria2, such as subject types and conditions, for quick access to intended images. In addition, the JPEG compression ratio and pixel counts can now be adjusted, when uploading to FTP server, for file and image sizes, achieving faster uploads to improve workflow from shooting to delivery.
Support for the import of NEF (RAW) images has also been added3. This means that, in addition to previously supported JPEG images, RAW images stored in the camera or smart device4 can also be imported to albums in NX MobileAir. Other changes include additions to the settings of custom IPTC metadata5 presets that can be imported/exported. Additionally, a new function prevents previously imported images which have been deleted on the app from being re-imported for enhanced workflow. The app’s enhancements in user friendliness consists also of changes to operability and displays, including the way in which images are imported from the camera, as well as a newly added function that synchronizes the clocks of the camera and smart device.
