Are you sure about the 35? I love the Nikon camera’s and the flash system but I am always a bit jealous when I see Canon shooters with the the 24/1.4L and 35/1.4L.. My dream combo is 24/1.4 – 35/1.4 – 60/2.8 Macro (the updated version is really great).

make that 20 f/1.8 or f/1.4 and I’d be pretty sold

      Sweet.

I suppose I won’t be able to afford all of them, but the new 24mm & 85mm 1.4 might be hard to resist.

Thanks again for your hard work!

Any idea of the time frame? Seems to me that most pros want the 35mm 1.4 and 85mm 1.4 way before a 16-35mm.

What most pros want is probably rather less significant than what will sell well.

Before Nikon can credibly sell an FX camera at a D300 price point ($1800 or less), they need a set of lenses that costs rather less than the $6000 plus that the magic three cost.

The 85 f/1.4 is the lens I would like, so I expect it will be the last one out.

      admin,

any estimate in the cost of an 85 1.4? woudl there be any chance of a cheaper 85 1.8? I wonder if nikon would consider another affordable dx prime…

I have reasons to believe the 135mm f2.0 is coming back up.
It went out of stock Last year in November and it’s definitely a MUST have lens on the professional line.

Why not just go buy a Canon with a 50mm 1.2 then? Problem solved. :)

Because the Canon 50mm f/1.2 is in many aspects out-performed by the Canon 50mm f/1.4!

I don’t think there is any way you can equate an 80-400 replacement with ‘light compact zoom.’ FML.

Why not? In relation to faster zooms at this focal length it’s really “compact”.
      Or did he mean dx-zooms?

Google Translated as “Introduced a single-focus zoom lens and a bright, high-performance compact”. Who is right? =/

Google is right. Google is always right. God blesses Google with His Noodly Appendage. Or perhaps vice versa.

But in this case I’m guessing that Google is right in a wrong sort of way.

    I assume it’s harder to build a 12-120mm than an 18-200mm?

If true (why should he be lying?) this is really a GREAT news ! Aside the 24, I’m waiting for the 135 F/1.8 – F/2 DC with VR !!!! The word “several” means more than two (!)

I missed this bit of rumour earlier from all the talk of the new lenses. Looks like 2010 will be the year of the primes. Perhaps this year we will see the most new lens announcements ever?
