    Yep, this camera is available. we have 2 at my Ritz store, and I thought we would never see them. If you like gold accents, then it’s a pretty slick looking camera!

    Couldn’t they have made the ring at the front of the lens (by the manual focus grip) gold, too? Leaving it silver looks a bit naff. If someone’s going to introduce a ’special’ edition SLR kit, they should at least make some effort to make it look special.

    The gold ring is a sign of professional grade Nikkors. The only way they could add it to Gold Edition Kit is to include 17-55mm f/2.8 :)

    the front nikon symbol could have been given the gold treatment for consistency’s sake. It doesn’t seem to have the special factor of previous nikon special editions.

    Yeah, needs a gold hot shoe, gold thumb wheel, gold lens focal length numbers, gold eye piece viewfinder, gold lens cap, gold strap and gold flash. Then I might buy one…not.
