After the latest announcements, here is an updated list of what to expect next from Nikon (see previous lists here):
- Nikon D810 replacement (expected to be announced this summer)
- Replacements for the Coolpix P900 camera
- Two more Nikkor lenses are rumored to be announced this year (I expected 5 new lenses, 3 were already announced):
- New Nikkor AF-P 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 VR full frame lens
- I believe the second lens will be a full frame E/FL telephoto (several patents already filed)
- I still have not heard anything about a Nikon D750 replacement (maybe in late 2017 or in 2018)
- Nikon “baby-D5” is still a possibility (could also be the Df replacement)
- New Nikon mirrorless is expected in late 2017 or in early 2018, two different models are rumored
I think it is safe to assume that the next big Nikon announcement will be for the D810 replacement unless we get some kind of a surprise for the 100th anniversary (July 25th).
Nikon has to also announce the pricing and details of their commemorative items.
