What to expect next from Nikon?

Most of the rumored Nikon products I reported in the past few months are already officially announced. Here is what’s left:

Nikon DSLR cameras

• New Df-like camera is rumored for Nikon’s 100th anniversary in 2017

Nikon 1 

• The Nikon 1 line is still alive. A new Nikon 1 J6 mirrorless camera with 4k video and SnapBridge is expected in 2017 (maybe for the CP+ show in February). There have been many new lens patents designed for cameras with 1″ sensor.

Large sensor Nikon mirrorless camera

• No new updates on the Nikon mirrorless camera with a larger sensor, but I would like to think this rumor is still alive.

Lenses

• We can expect more Nikkor tele lenses to be refreshed with E/FL (several patents already filed).

I don’t think Nikon will announce another product in 2016. Expect an official announcement at the CES show in early January 2017 and then at the CP+ in late February 2017.
