Opinion: a new compact fixed-lens camera from Nikon would be a nice surprise

Do you remember the Nikon DL fixed-lens 1″-sensor compact cameras that were announced back in 2016 and were discontinued a few months later before they even started shipping? I think Nikon should update them and bring them back. They already did the development, and those cameras will still be relevant today.

Several companies are already returning to compact fixed-lens cameras (Canon PowerShot V1, Leica D-Lux 8, Panasonic). The 6-year-old Ricoh GR is still very popular and impossible to get.
