What to expect from Nikon in early 2016

Here is another updated “what to expect” list:

• Nikon D5
• Nikon Wireless Transmitter WT-6 & Nikon Speedlight SB-5000
• Three new Nikon compact cameras with 1″ sensor and different focal lengths
• Three new Nikon extreme/action cameras
• Replacements for the S33 and S9900 Coolpix compact cameras (Coolpix A10 & A100?)
• New photo sharing app
• Update: forgot to mention the new 18-55mm DX lens (already announced)

I expect the official announcements for most of the products listed above to be in early 2016 – around the CES (January) or CP+ (February) shows.

Few potential rumors for late 2016/2017:

• Full frame Nikon mirrorless camera (I still do not have any details or reliable information)
• New “Df-like” camera (most likely in 2017)
• E and/or FL refresh for all Nikkor tele lenses – this is more of a long term goal and it will take few years until Nikon replaces all mentioned lenses.

Here is a list of Nikon products I have no reliable information/rumors/details:

• No Nikon A replacement for now (the Coolpix A camera is now officially “discontinued by manufacturer“)
• So far no word on any new Nikon 1 cameras or lenses
• Also, no new/reliable D400 rumors or any new DX/FX DSLR lenses
