Nikon D500 issues that could be fixed in the upcoming firmware update

Here are some of the issues that could be addressed in the rumored Nikon D500 firmware update:

• A possible”fix” would be the restore of the 9point AF option like they did with the D5 firmware update.
• SnapBridge issues.
• Nikon D500 has compatibility issues with the Profoto Air Remote TTL-N.
• Metz has confirmed some issue when using the Metz 64 flash on the D500.
• There is also an issue with the new Lexar 2000x SD memory cards when used with the Nikon D500. After viewing several images an error occurs saying the card is defect. It is sometimes not even possible to format the card in camera. The issue was confirmed by Nikon Germany:

If you play back picture continuously by holding the play button you will get an error message “XQD this memory card cannot be used. Card may be damaged. Insert another card.” and the camera is locked. As a work around you have to switch off the power, wait a few seconds and switch on again. After that the memory card can be used again and you can display the pictures again. This bug was only observed with the build in EN EL 15 battery. The problem was not observed with the EN EL 18 battery.
