→ This is the Nikon booth at the 2016 CP+ show in Japan.

→ An article on ABC News Australia talks about worker exploitation. Nikon got a C grade.

→ Few reports form the recent Nikon D5/D500 events:

Videos of each respective camera were played, specifications were reviewed, abilities of both bodies were compared to the “competition” I. E. Canon and the floor was opened for questions. Those in attendance were allowed to test the cameras, both test models with the memory card slot sealed and we were told that the firmware in both bodies was still the beta firmware. Free gift was a Nikon Moleskine notebook and lens pen cleaner along with a t-shirt and cap.

I was greeted at the door by store staff and checked in. I was given a choice between a black “D5/D500” hat or black XL Polo with the same logo. I noticed it did not say “Nikon D5/D500” as they must have fouled up an order and decided to give these away. I don’t get why they wouldn’t put “Nikon” above the camera names? We were offered snacks and refreshments before the presentation. Before the presentation started, the the Nikon Rep emphisized NO PICTURES or VIDEO allowed. As he started the PowerPoint show on a 42″ LCD, all the info that was shown was nothing new that nikonrumors had not already posted, A few comparisons to competing Canon models ( funny they used the 1Dx Mk II but only the 5D Mk II, and a few already released hi-ISO images. Once we could handle the actual cameras, again, we could not insert memory cards to truly see what these cameras are capable of ( we were told the 3 ea bodies, were still “SAMPLES” as stated on the bottom of each, therefore were not the final release firmware). Since I read NR daily I did not get anything new out of the release party.

At least two new Sigma lenses rumored to be announced on February 23rd
