Nikon released new Information about support for macOS Big Sur



Nikon updated their Big Sur software compatibility – here are the details:

We are pleased to announce the following regarding the compatibility of our Mac software products with macOS Big Sur.

Note: A dialog asking whether to allow an application to access files and folders may be displayed the first time it is launched. If this dialog is displayed, click OK each time.

Apple Silicon Compatibility has been achieved (the software runs under Rosetta 2).

(including ViewNX-Movie Editor and Nikon Transfer 2)

Picture Control Utility 2 2.4.7 Intel We have confirmed that there are no problems with basic operation.

Nikon Message Center 2 2.4.0 Intel We have confirmed that there are no problems with basic operation.

Camera Control Pro 2 2.33.1 Intel Compatibility has been achieved.
Apple Silicon Compatibility has been achieved (the software runs under Rosetta 2).
Wireless Transmitter Utility 1.9.4 Intel We have confirmed that there are no problems with basic operation.
Apple Silicon Currently undergoing testing.
IPTC Preset Manager 1.2.0 Intel We have confirmed that there are no problems with basic operation.
Apple Silicon Currently undergoing testing.
Webcam Utility 1.0.1 Intel Compatibility has been achieved.
Apple Silicon Compatibility has been achieved.*²
NX Studio 1.0.0 Intel Compatibility has been achieved.
Apple Silicon Compatibility has been achieved (the software runs under Rosetta 2).

*1 Files stored on some memory cards will not be displayed when a card reader is used with Nikon Transfer 2. Should this occur, use ViewNX-i or the Finder to transfer image files from the memory card to a computer using the card reader, or use a USB cable to connect the camera directly to the computer.

*2 Webcam Utility runs as an Apple Silicon native app in the universal version of Chrome.

We do not intend to provide compatibility with the following applications.

In addition, we do not plan to provide compatibility for other software, or SCSI- or serial-connection products. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
