The CIPA report for July is out: worse than previous years (again)
CIPA (Camera & Imaging Products Association in Japan) published their July report and the downturn continues – the total number of shipped digital cameras is lower compared to the same month in previous years (orange: 2019, black: 2018, blue: 2017, click for larger view):
- DSLR Units -36%
- DSLR Shipped Value -45%
- Mirrorless Units -14%
- Mirrorless Shipped Value +4%
- Compact Units -19%
- Compact Shipped Value -16%
- Lenses for smaller than 35mm Units –31%
- Lenses for smaller than 35mm Shipped Value -29%
- Lenses for 35mm and larger Units -13%
- Lenses for 35mm and large Shipped Value -1%
- Mirrorless unit share (of Mirrorless + DSLR): 44%
- Mirrorless Shipped Value share: 59%
