About those pre-production Nikon Z6/Z7 camera reviews (another Nikon marketing fail)

Tony & Chelsea Northrup posted a video about their first hands-on experience with a pre-production Nikon Z6/Z7 camera in which they point out several issues they experienced with the camera:

My beef here is with Nikon’s marketing department which has been sleeping for a while anyway – why would you let people use a pre-production version of your latest camera? What happened to the old “glued memory card door” trick you have been doing for the past decade? You even let people take pictures and post them online. You should see how some of the NDAs sent by other companies are structured and learn from them. You got that figured out in the past 10 years, what happened this time?

For those of you who don’t know much about software development and beta/pre-production firmware versions, I strongly suggest to watch (or rather hear) this explanation from a “biased” Sony user who is baffled just like me at why Nikon did what they did (he called himself “biased” since he is a Sony user, but I think he is spot on):
