Reuters: “Nikon Q1 profit soars; sees higher profit in FY”

• Net income 176.2 percent higher than last year
• Earnings per share are 28.92 yen, higher than 10.46 yen last year.
• Net sales declined 8.9 percent

Nikon released their financial results for the Imaging Products Business for the first quarter of the year ending March 31, 2017:

“Sales and operating income decreased ¥42.7 billion and ¥4 billion, respectively, quarter on quarter”

Estimation for the Imaging Products Business for the year ending March 31, 2017:

“Sales and operating income forecasts are revised downwardly by ¥17 billion and ¥2 billion, respectively. Year-on-year forecasts indicate reductions of 19% for sales and 28% for operating income.”
