Four new Nikon p&s models will be released on August 6, 2008 (Updated)

Update: the date for the new Nikon p&s cameras is August 7th, 6AM Central European Time (CET) according to our source.

Four (4) new Nikon p&s models will be released on Wednesday, August 6, 2008:

Top model:

• 14.5 Mpx
• 12.800 ISO
• 12 f.p.s.
• Lens starts at 28 mm equivalent, and is a 3,6x 6-21,6 mm f/2,8-5,6.
• P, S, A and M modes added in addition to the auto programs. 3″ screen, no optical viewfinder
• VR

The other two models will be identical, except one of them for LAN (10 Mpx and 4x zoom). Very short start up time.

Fourth model is low end.

VR for all four models.

No word if any of the above models will be the P6000.
