I was just reading a few posts on DpReview about a D300 vs 7D comparison and in the typical DpReview fashion the war got started with Nikon better, No Canon is better, Anyway one item debated was the Nikon and Canon flash system. One Canon fan defended his system to being just like the system from Nikon.
Anyway I still have some Canon pieces left incl my 40D and 580 Flash. Before that I had a Pentax K10 with their 540 Flash. Ahh the danger of working in camera retail
In real shooting conditions I newer 100% trusted the flash system from either Canon or Pentax. Both had major issues when something had backlit areas, so rooms with open doors and windows was always a huge challenge. I am just floored to how good Nikon is at getting the exposure right, the only problem is the operator(me) setting the flash to TTL BL for exposure of backlit area and not normal TTL which is very good at exposing the people in front of you that has to be exposed correctly
What is your experience with Nikon and other Brands flash system
