Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S lens to be announced next

Nikon is rumored to officially announce their new Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S full-frame mirrorless lens soon. My guess is that we will have the announcement before the CP+ show that starts on February 28th. Here are the rumored details (for comparison, in the brackets you can find the specs of the current Nikon AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR F-mount lens):

  • 82mm filter (F-mount: 82mm)
  • 17 elements in 15 groups (F-mount: 20 elements in 16 groups)
  • 2 ED and 4 aspherical elements (F-mount: 2 ED and 3 aspherical)
  • Minimum focus distance: 38cm (F-mount: 38cm)
  • Weight: around 800g (F-mount: 1070g)
  • Lens hood included
  • No collapsible barrel

The Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S will be the only lens that will be announced. The Nikkor Z Noct 58mm f/0.95 lens will come later in 2019.

The updated Nikon Z mirrorless lens roadmap can be found here.
