At the end of July 2015 Nikon registered two new trademarks – “C Nikon” and “V Nikon“. From the trademark’s descriptions it seems that these will most likely be for new software packages/solutions (update – maybe V is for View NX and C for Capture NX):
C Nikon is described as:
” Software program for use in digital photography, to provide an image-editing, printing, browsing, exporting, sharing through social media and cloud-based file sharing services, sending by e-mail and slideshow environment for digital images; medium recorded software program for use in digital photography, to provide an image-editing, printing, browsing, exporting, sharing through social media and cloud-based file sharing services, sending by e-mail and slideshow environment for digital images including CD-ROMs, optical discs, magnetic discs and magnetic optical discs; Digital cameras” (source)
The V Nikon description is much more generic:
“Scientific, nautical, surveying, photographic, cinematographic, optical, weighing, measuring, signalling and checking (supervision) apparatus and instruments; computers; computer software; software program for use in digital photography, to provide an image-editing, printing, browsing, exporting, sending by e-mail and slideshow environment for digital images; recorded software program for use in digital photography, to provide an image-editing, printing, browsing, exporting, sending by e-mail and slideshow environment for digital images including CD-ROMs, optical discs, magnetic discs and magnetic optical discs; electronic machines and apparatus all for use in computer software; digital cameras; digital single-lens reflex cameras; telecommunication apparatus and instruments; software program for use in movies recorded with a digital camera; software program for use in movie editing; software program for use in movie creating; software program for use in movie converter; software program for use in movie processing; software program for use in movie trimming; software program for use in saving movie; software program for use in combined movie; software program for use in uploading of files; smartphones; handheld terminal devices.” (source)
