Pricing for new Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8, 90mm f/2.8 and Sigma 35mm f/1.4 lenses announced

Tamron announced the prices for their new 70-200mm f/2.8 VC USD and 90mm f/2.8 Macro VC USD lenses that were announced at the 2012 Photokina show:

• Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 SP Di VC USD lens: $1,499.00 (expected availability after November 30, 2012)
• Tamron 90mm f/2.8 SP Di MACRO 1:1 VC USD lens: $849.00 (expected availability after November 30, 2012)

Sigma also released the price of their new 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM lens – $899.00 (expected availability: November 30, 2012).

Tamron SP 70-200mm f/2.8 Di VC USD (Model A009) features:

• One special XLD (Extra Low Dispersion) glass in concert with four LD (Low Dispersion) elements minimize chromatic aberrations. This combined with a new optical design that delivers high contrast and high resolution throughout the zoom range achieves leading-edge image quality.
• Tamron’s advanced multi-layer coating technology dramatically improves lens performance by reducing flare and ghosting for crisper, clearer images.
• The rounded diaphragm affords the photographer spectacular blur effects, delivering the kind of rich expression only achievable with a high-speed telephoto zoom lens.
• The most compact full-size, high-speed telephoto zoom lens with VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization and USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) in its class delivers superior mobility, enabling photographers to capture the previously unattainable.
• Features USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) to power a speedy AF drive together with a continuous manual focus mechanism.
• The VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization mechanism reduces camera shake to deliver sharp images.
• Moisture-resistant construction helps prevent moisture from penetrating the lens.

Tamron SP 90mm f/2.8 Di MACRO 1:1 VC USD (Model F004) features:

• Tamron has updated their legendary 90mm Macro lens with a new, state-of-the-art optical design. The lens, reborn for the age of digital photography, offers VC (Vibration Compensation) and USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive).
• Adopting a state-of-the-art optical design and a rounded diaphragm, this lens carries on the long tradition of Tamron’s 90mm Macro lens in delivering spectacular blur effects. Two XLD (Extra Low Dispersion) glasses and one LD (Low Dispersion) element reduce chromatic aberrations, yielding sharp images and outstanding resolution.
• Tamron’s newly developed eBAND (Extended Bandwidth & Angular-Dependency) Coating delivers a dramatic improvement in antireflection performance—significantly reducing flare and ghosting for clearer, crisper images.
• The VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization mechanism reduces camera shake to deliver sharp images.
• Features USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) to power a speedy AF drive together with a continuous manual focus mechanism.
• Incorporates IF (Internal Focus) system, which focuses by moving only the internal lens group, rather than the front lens elements. The overall length of the lens therefore does not change when focusing, thus ensuring a broad working distance.
• Moisture-resistant construction helps prevent moisture from penetrating the lens.

Some of the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM features:

• One “F” Low Dispersion (FLD) glass lens and four Special Low Dispersion (SLD) glass lenses to ensure exceptional correction of lateral and axial chromatic aberration, the latter of which cannot be corrected in post production
• A floating inner focus system to provide extremely high optical performance for close-up photos
• Super Multi-Layer Coating to reduce flare and ghosting and provide sharp and high contrast images even in backlit conditions
• A HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) that ensures high speed, accurate and quiet AF
• Rubber incorporated into the attachment part of the lens hood, and an improved redesign of the lens cap and AF / MF changeover switch have been improved
• Thermally Stable Composite (TSC), which has high affinity to metal parts, that are housed internally, increases overall functionality, lifespan, and quality of the lens
• A rounded 9 blade diaphragm creates an attractive blur to the out-of-focus areas of the image
• A newly developed USB dock, which will be sold separately and exclusively for new product lines, can be paired with new Sigma Optimization Pro software to update the lens firmware and adjust parameters, such as micro focus adjustment
