But wait, there is more… next month

Nikon will have another announcement in October, 2011. I do not have an exact date yet, but the week of 17-21 looks right. Unfortunately, there will probably not be any full frame DSLR cameras introduced next month. I have no idea what's coming and would like to again lower your expectations by saying that next announcement will not be exciting. If I am wrong, I am sure you will forgive me because you will be busy playing with your new D800/D4. I really prefer this conservative approach which worked pretty well with the red D3100 and the mirrorless camera announcements. If Nikon doesn't announce a full frame camera next month, the chances are very slim for another new product introduction in late November/December (Nikon has done it in the past).

And always remember: no leaks = no announcement!

Well let´s hope and wait AGAIN for the dslr´s

  • Moth Flopwell

    It is the Pink D5100.

    • Moth Flopwell

…….and meanwhile over at Canon and Sony…Great News….

      Canon D6
      and Sony A99

      • Monkey Nigh Mow

Ah that would be 6D. Canon is not Nikon noob.

        • Moth Flopwell

Monkey Boy..I know this..I making a snide remark about the lackluster announcements that Nikon is making…….Please keep up…

    • Zatrapa2010

It’s not funny your joke about my D5100, maybe you can try wuth the T3i.

  • Magoo

Thanks for all the info admin…whether we find it “interesting” or not…you’re always dishin’ it out! That is all.

  • Buett

No leaks = no product? 40mm macro? 😉

    • I’ve discussed this several times in the past, no need to go over it again. Nikon will NOT announce the D4 or D800 like they did with the 40mm macro lens.

      • Yhannoby

        i hope they do. (^_^)

        • steve

          Hmm… I was betting we’d see the 24Mp aps-c Sony sensor appear in a D400…. no chance ?

          • alaaddin

            i hope so..

      • @Admin, maybe Nikon will do it just to spite you! It is all part of the Dark Side’s goal to discredit you, and thereby destroy your following. The 40mm was just the beginning…

        • I am sure that I will screw up again in the future. In the past 3.5 years, my only miss was the 40mm macro lens. I have “guessed” any other new product announcement from Nikon. The 50mm f/1.8 was leaked by Nikon itself, so I am not counting it as a miss.

      • The invisible man

I wish you were a woman, you would have leaks every month !
(sorry Peter, I know it’s gross but I could not resist !)

    • Good Guy Greg

That is because people didn’t whine about the 40mm Macro.

  • The Neo-Colonialist

    is gonna kick ass!

is that the clicking sound? Sorry the NX3 and NX3n is missing two much for real use, and the J1 for that matter. Maybe the NX7 or V1 .

You have to count the cost of good lens (assuming they are available), the NX system gets pricey real soon, much faster then the Cx or even the Dx system.

Using legacy glass on the NX while a lot of fun (I encourage you to try it) is not a substitute for glass made for it , especially to the regular purchaser.

      • foo

        Hint: NX != NEX

  • Kede

Years of waiting, milliseconds of jizzing…. That’s the power of D800 announcement 😀

    • It’s getting on my nerves… (2 years now)

  • D700guy

I know what it is: Nikon will be announcing the disbursement of the reach arounds we’ve all been looking so much forward to.

  • Yhannoby

My expectations are low now. Thanks to you nikon.

    • RR

      Same here…

  • Acutia

It will be the 200mm macro that has been in test for the past two years.

  • broxibear
    • Maddog

Does this mean the Artful Dodger works for Canon? 🙂

    • Iris Chrome

  • Twoomy

It better be an electric blue D5100.

  • Phil

Yes, it won’t be FX since Sony hasn’t developed a new FX sensor yet. (On the other hand neither has Canon so I don’t understand all people who say they’ll be switching to Canon, as if they had released something amazing and Nikon had fallen behind.)

But I’m wondering if it is a D400 since there are now 2 potential sensors (the D7K and the NEX7) one, and it’s a more urgent upgrade as D7k is canibalising D300s sales.

Even if it is a few lens updates like 300mm f/4, 80-400mm, 200 macro, I would be happy.

    • steve

D400 – my thoughts exactly. But they seem to be on the odd numbers now so maybe D500 ?

      • the invisible man

once again, there will be NO D400

    • PHB

I would not expect the D400 to come out ahead of the D4 since it is part of the D4 flagship generation.

But then again, why not announce the D400 as part of the buildup program?

D400 would make sense for the Xmas market as well. So would a D700+ or more importantly for Nikon a D9000. I don’t see the D3s sensor disappearing completely.

As for the lack of rumors on FX, I would think that Nikon is 100% consumed on their EVIL launch right now. They announce F-mount cameras every year, a new format is a once every two decades thing.

I still think that a DX EVIL camera is pointless. But an FX camera could have a point to it. That would allow for a very low light option with rangefinder type lenses and for a clear division of labour between the CX range (compactness) and the FX range (low light). One stop is meaningless, two can matter.

The main change vs the DSLR range would be a new range of cheaper, higher performance wides with a short focus design. OK, that would be cheaper to make, not necessarily to buy.

    • Foolishcfo

I thought the one thing cannibalizing D300 sales was the fact that the shelves are bare. Gotta make room for all the Coolpix colors.

    • Remedy

Geez people cut the fucking crap with “bla bla bla Sony didn’t develop new FX sensor yet”. Nikon doesn’t give a shit what Sony has or has not developed in terms of D4 sensor. Sony DID NOT develop the D3 or D3s sensor – period! Sick of reading bullshit like “Nikon doesn’t make sensors, they need to wait for Sony”. Wrong and it’s as stupid as saying that Nvidia doesn’t make GPUs or AMD doesn’t make CPU/GPUs because they DONT have any factories. Everyone, even You internet trolls can develop a CMOS sensor (oh snap, that requires some knowledge, too bad trolls) and get it produced by Sony for instance. Just because Nikon is using Sony sensors in many of their cameras doesn’t mean they (Nikon) can’t develop their own one because they already did it several times.

    • Sahaja

Sony also have an updated version of their 16mp sensor. I think Nikon would be more likely to use that instead of the older one they used in the D7K

  • Tonny

a serie of disappointments indeed… wtf

I can’t understand the logic behind this marketing campaign. All I can think of is DSLR is not a consumer product and don’t make money for Nikon then YOU can wait.
But I know it is not true. So the next speculation is, Nikon does not have anything in the pocket, no new innovation. They may not want to just release a plain camera like D800 with HD movie so engineer is still busy finding something innovative to put in this camera.

    I hope I’m wrong.

  • I know, there will be no DSLR body this year…from Nikon! Canon is preparing a huge response to this “market hole” on fullframe bodys, taking advantage over the “out of stock” Nikon Bodys.

Let´s cry together for Nikon pro line.

    • A Thought

      Whining again…
«Canon is preparing a huge response»… uau, talk about it!
«”out of stock” Nikon Bodys»?… maybe in your hometown…

    • Robert Falconer

Let´s cry together for Nikon pro line.

Sorry, you’re on your own with that one.

      • Spend your 7.000 dollars on a bulky d3x or in a 12 mp d3s while Canon dominate the pro market with White teles, 5d movies and still 21mp Photos for magazines, advertising, webseries and even broadcasting.
If you do sports and wedding, or landscape keep the line Nikon.
For the other jobs go Canon.

        • What world are you living in?

        • Chris P

If you think Canon still dominate the working pro market think again. I visit central London quite often and up to three years ago all of the pros gathered around the various BBC sites used Canon. The last time I was up there and saw a group of them outside the BBC radio building they all had a D3s + 70-200 combo.

If Canon introduce a better body than the D3s and get their flash system right then they will change back, to them the camera is just a tool to get the best shot. Like all professionals in any trade they will us the best tool for the job, and at the moment that is the D3s.

          • Anon

            and D3x too (for studio)

        • Johan

What web images need 21 mp resolution??

  • Thom wHO?

A reliable spanish source (you know admin) told me personally that continue to bet for the advent of the D800 by the end of the year.

    Let’s hope

  • Backpacker

Any chance we’ll see an updated 80-400mm with AF-S? That would be make me a happy camper and willing to wait for a new DSLR.

  • I will believe it when I see it. I have not received a single reliable info about upcoming full frame DSLR.

  • DavidB

    It’s a Nikon Pocket Instamatic!

  • Dandydon

I watched those two videos. They are not selling camera. They are selling hopes and dreams and adventure. Listen to the lyrics. “There’s something missing in my life…”
They are targetting the depressed people and they are going to be able to convence them that this Mirrorless is what they have been missing. Not just the camera but the camera will bring the friends and good times that are currently void in their miserable existance. Come buy a V1 and you can have all this fun that others are having but you are not. Get up! Right now! March down to the “Nikon” Store. (Coming soon to a mall near you… just like the Apple store) and buy the V1. Then you can keep buying all hte little plugins…. and chase your elusive happiness.

    • none

Spot on, but it’s not just cameras, and it’s not even specifically Nikon cameras. It’s everything in this messed up, “consumer”-driven, if-the -economy-isn’t-growing-it’s-broken society.

  • Kingyo

    it’s another coolpix isn’t it?.. 🙁

    • BenH

Surprise! It’ll be another rebate program… Or maybe some marketing campaign.

  • DX2FX

But Nikon needs to get the D4 out months ahead of the London Olympic, don’t they ?

    • Monkey Nigh Mow

It will be lenses for the Nikon 1.

    • No

  • Muchachito Ehehe

    C’mon Nikon, new lenses.

    • Monkey Nigh Mow

It will be. For the Nikon 1.

      • Anon

        #&^[ the Nikon 1

  • venancio

with all the things we’re getting from nikon, and the frustration on not getting what we want, you kind of wonder how the canon camp is feeling right now… like what they say, count your blessings… d800 kudasaimasu…

  • Iris Chrome

Admin, do you think it could possibly be the D3200? It’s just about the right time to update the D3x00 line assuming it’s on a 1 year cycle.

    • Iris Chrome

      I guess not…

  • The following paragraph is one of the rumors on canonrumors.com. If Nikon does not announce at least one new full frame camera in October, I am going to be very sad that I just purchased my 70-200 VRII.

“Canon will be launching a new camera later in October. Already in production and described internally as a “Nikon-killer”, it is reportedly a camera with lower megapixels than might be expected for a new release, but with excellent dynamic range and ISO performance.”

    • Isn’t it about time for some more CoolPix in assorted colors?
Maybe a smaller one with the new tiny Sensor?

They are all too small for my hands already,
I hope they release a D400 and AF-S 80-400 so I can choose where to satisfy my NAS.
I’ve repaired that burnt hole in my pocket so many times now that there is hardly any change left.

    • Joe

Whoa, a “Nikon-Kiler”? I’m totally scared now. Will my D700 explode an stop making those great pictures?

  • nah

300 f/4 with vr would be a godsend. 80-400 af-s would be nice as well. maybe even a 200 f/2.8 af-s but i doubt that will ever happen. i’d much rather have lens updates than new bodies.

    • J

      Exactly! 300mm f4 VR, I AM COMING!!!

  • FXiated

Ok, look at the bright side. All the crap is out of the way. If they had other ML lenses they would had released them yesterday. It’s got to be either new real lenses like the new 80-400 or some combo of D4/D800/D400.

    • Allen

unless Nikon’s marking is crazy, think about it guys, they released a whole lot of new FX lens such as the 16-35 f4, 24-105 f4 and 28-300.
they are all high performance and yet very affordable FX lens targeting prosumers like us. and yet our local market has always been short in D700 stock since even before the earth quake.

the marketing strategy here is obvious, they will push full frame to a new level and make it more affordable to those getting serious about photography.
If their plan is to continue selling the d700 why waste the money and time to research and release all these cheap FX lens anyway?

All I know is If i rushed into a shop today and get a d700 I will be very disappointed tomorrow when they release the new FX

  • Looks like no D4 for the Olympics. As for the D700 successor, just be happy the D700 works as good as it does. Look at the bright side, you don’t have to go out and buy a new body yet.

    • Anon

    • Calibrator

      Are you serious?
80% of the posters here won’t buying anything in the next six months (look at the mirrorless poll). They are only here to lament or do their “I knew it!”-dance.
They get giddy about new tech but they don’t buy it – in the contrary: They will bash it like there is no tomorrow!
I bet you get countless haters here nitpicking about everything new (or old) in the D4/D800/Dwhatever on the day of the announcement.
This is why Nikon doesn’t care – and rightfully so.

  • Well, for one thing, Nikon has introduced a grand total of 2 lenses this year. I’m sure we’ve got several more that are in the pre-announcement hopper at the moment. As for DSLRs, I’m still wondering about what one high-level Nikon employee told me earlier this year: we haven’t reached his total of announcements yet. Not even counting the Nikon 1 as a “DSLR.”

    • DX2FX

Thom, but ‘earlier this year’ was probably before the Japan earthquake struck. Surely that would have had an impact to the original schedule, considering that the D4/D800 are supposed to be made in Japan.

      • You can blame all you want on the earth quake or Tsunami, but all I know is Canon is beating Nikon to the punch for new product and they had to deal with all the same issues.

I am not buying the Japan disasters excuse for product announcements.

      • Nikon can’t have it both ways. If the quake impacted their schedules, they should just say so. But they’re saying the opposite, that the quake impact was minimal and that Sendai was at “full operation” within 45 days of the quake.

I’m sensing a shift in Nikon’s announce philosophy. We had four announce days in 2010, this year we’re already at five and if my sources are correct we’ll have seven or eight total. Put another way, we’re seeing things isolated and stretched over a period of time rather than some of the big all-in announcements we’ve seen in the past (e.g. DSLRs, compacts, and lenses all in one announce).

        • broxibear

          Hi Thom,
Companies are economical with the truth to protect their share value, last week Nikon rose based on a rumoured mirrorless launch which resulted in a very odd Nikon statement on their website.
I recently saw images of Sendai showing what had changed 6 months after the earthquake…not much had changed, apart from some of the main roads being cleared there was still complete destruction, debris, collapsed buildings etc. Here’s the link http://totallycoolpix.com/2011/09/japan-tsunami-6-months-later-then-and-now/
There’s no way Nikon or any other company was at full operation 45 days after the event, it was only a few weeks ago that power restrictions across Japan were returned to normal.
What do you think is happening a Nikon’s Sendai plant ?
Logic says D4 and D800…unless that rumour about FX production being moved to Malaysia is true ?

          • I’ve long believed that Sendai is making, or perhaps preparing to make, something other than the D700, D3s, and D3x. I see no reduction in capacity at Sendai, yet we know that some of the metalworking once done there was moved to SE Asia (lens mounts, for example). Given the paucity of D700 and D3s bodies coming into the US, the only two logical choices are (1) Sendai isn’t really up to speed; or (2) something is being produced other than the D700 and D3 series, even if that’s only frames/parts for an upcoming camera. To believe #1 you’d have to believe that Nikon made direct lies to investors, which is unlikely. Thus I believe #2.

Sendai shouldn’t have been overly vulnerable to rotating power blackouts. Most of the plant is either metal parts making machines or hand assembly. It’s not like lens glass, where you need constant power, nor like electronics creation where you may have long power-up times.

            • AnoNemo

Nikon cannot deliver a competitive FX sensor. I think the new sony FX sensor sent the Nikon designers back to the drawing board. That is why we do not hear anything. If they had something in the pipeline we’d have heard about now.

    • EnPassant

The four “1” lenses make it a total of 6 lenses this year. Quite a normal lensfigure per year for Nikon. I doubt we will see more than one or two new DSLR lenses this year. Did Nikon ever present as many as 4-5 lenses in the last three months of a year?

      • No, typically one or two lenses in the last four months of the year have been announced. But we also tended to get a big drop in July/August and we didn’t this year.

I don’t think the Nikon 1 lenses change the equation for the number of F mount lenses that we’ll get. If it does, Nikon has a real significant issue on their hands with their established users.

    • AnoNemo

I guess your track record now is a piece of …. So far you were unable to predict 1 Nikon product for this year correctly. I suggest to go back to your Japanese source and get better info 😉

  • sirin

    i am disappoints

  • NG42

I think Nikon have really lost it with this mirrorless camera. They say they’re targeting compact users who want to step up- yet they’re charging them more for a camera that is cheaper to make and less capable than a DSLR, with a smaller sensor. Compact users don’t want to shell out a grand for a camera that’s gonna have less zoom than their compact. And serious photographers are laughing at these cameras. What in the world Nikon. These cameras should be $399 and $499. I think you’ve lost your mind. Good luck. You say you want to sell to the masses. The masses are not going to pay what you want to charge for this camera. I’m sure there will be an initial flurry of people buying them but what’s next- unless you slash the price in half you’re gonna be stuck with a lot of unsold stock. I’m certain of it.

    • R!

Like I said b4 first with full frame mirror less camera, leica like camera, under 2000$ iz da winna§§§§§§ !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dan

I had a nice chat with the fine folks at Berger Bros. today and we both agree that the Tsunami probably has had a more profound effect than we all think on the launch of any new FX rigs like the D4 or D800 – especially given the fact that manufacturing for these lines originally came out of Japan.

Most likely any new products we see now are because they were originally sourced out of Indonesia. So honestly (and it pains me to say this), I don’t expect anything until early 2012 or later. Yes, it sucks – but what can you do. But don’t expect me to jump to Sony because of the delay. Nikon blood runs through my veins. And Nikon is not going anywhere.

    • R!

this stupid developement of more colorblsht completly new product line ,take to much time to much money work on pro bodys would have take half time half the money and would have given back some market share for consummer body because of the reputation comming from the pro body buzz, then nikon could have be sellin any kind of stupid multicolorshttt adventure but yu stay home fake toy camera they wanted to……but well I gess Nikon got to pay me I could help them and a lot of folks on that forum I guess!!!!!!!

      • R!

scuse for aurthograff I juss got out the Kinder garden Last yuur!!!!!

    • haha

Actually, I don’t need Nikon to announce any new FX bodies or the specs for the D3/s/x, D700 successors. I just want Nikon to comment on their roadmap that they have planned for the pros. Like no FX bodies and lens this year, expect Q2-Q3 next year, … They can’t even do this, which is what that pisses me off and with all the secretive announcements thus far and none for the pros but a bunch of products that are useless to the pros. I mean if they want to give up on the pro segment because they know they will never beat Canon or will eventually be overtaken by Sony. It’s also fine, just tell us. Those that go the DSLR route are investing into a camera system that is for the long term and not the short term. I got 3 Nikon bodies, 10 Nikkor lens and if Nikon is going to neglect this segment, just let me know, so that I can confirm that I have bet heavily and wrongly into their system, but at least I can make my life easier by switching system, instead of being caught in no man’s land.

Come on D700x, lets go, D700s….
      October 2011…

      D4, D400
      Spring 2012

  • Robert Falconer

I doubt Nikon will wait until next year to debut the D4/D800. I expect that’s EXACTLY what’s coming next month.

  • Dear Admin, Thank you as always. You are truly the Perez Hilton of all that is Nikon (and Leica and Photo, um, rumors).

  • BP

There’s a big buzz over at RED that they are planning release the Scarlet on Nov 3 to contend with a release from canon (5D MKIII?) on the same date. Even though this is a Video battle, I wonder if Nikon will be releasing a DSLR around that time too. Since Canon/Nikon Releases usually happen close together.

  • grayscale

Actually, the AF on this thing is freaking amzing!

    • Sky

It is? I don’t see anything very demanding for AF in this video, especially when depth of field is so huge that it covers nearly everything from lens till infinity. lol

  • Art

I am officially depressed — not as in sad but as in lost hope for the time being that I’ll see a D800 anytime soon.

    So here is my prediction:

The announcement will be for a whole new line of Nikon gear. New camera bags, base ball hats, pens, bottle openers, and all sorts of really cool Nikon swag and of course the new “I AM COMING” t-shirts.

    • LOL, that is funny! The sad part if you are probably right

    • Ben Brickwall

      I enjoyed your joke thoroughly.

    • plug

I am coming….but no leaks yet!

  • Q

October is the last chance for products that will be part of the Christmas sales. Im don’t know if that is important for a Japaneses company. But for the west it major. So this year will be a empty year for Nikon. But at least we can hope for some new lenes. A new 80-400 is what I need.

  • Monkey Nigh Mow

Dudes, just buy glass. Even if they do announce something the end of october (D4 or D800 for example). They won’t be available for another 6 months or so (at LEAST 3 months). So you’ll have 3-6 months to save for the new camera.

So buy glass and get some shots now. 🙂

  • Hmmmm

Maybe the “s” in “I am Comings” is a sign there’s a second big announcement; hence the plural?

  • Anon

Maybe D800 won’t be announced before the full frame version of Sony A77, A whatever. Nikon will possibly use that new-tech sensor on D4 & then D800.

Why? Because if a tweaked D3x sensor was the plan, we would have already seen it by now. It’s too late today to see either D3x or D3s sensors on new bodies that should be futureproof for next 3 years.

Btw, Nikon may still use the D3s sensor on an entry level FX to be called D9000 – small body like D7000 with EVF (otherwise OVF will be too bulky for that size).

    • Anon

The only trouble with this idea is that as Sony already had 24mp full frames A900 & A850 years ago, the successor will unlikely be another 24mp one, especially after the 24mp crop-sensor A77.

Sony & Nikon seem to be out of sync. Maybe the D4 & D800 will have totally different sensors, designed & manufactured by Nikon, different than the old-tech 24mp on D3x & A900, since the high-iso noise & DR bar has been raised in the meantime (D7000).

      • Sky

Nikon can’t manufacture sensor – it doesn’t have any semiconductor manufacturing plants. Most likely they’ll outsource it.

Rumor? hahaha. Nonsence!!! Two new DSRLs were to come in August. Nothin came. Then september. Then in late september. What has come? Neither a D4 nor an D800 and no D400. The socalled rumors are fantasy! Wasted time. Maybe in the year 2345 we will se something – if we are alife.

    • not sure where are you getting those rumors, definitely not from NikonRumors.com

My D700 is great! Glass please…300f4 in particular.

  • According to Thom; a november/december announcement is probable though, since their production was delayed a month or two, due to the disaster.

    • Sky

“According to Thom” isn’t anything worth considering, especially after his long history of misjudgment on releases.

      • Daniel

        “Long history of misjudgment” ?
I haven’t found anyone that has predicted releases for Nikon better. Especially a year on advance, which his articles often covers.

      • Paul

        what “history of misjudgement”???
he’s accurate most times, definitely more than not!!

  • Davix

    let me guess…. hmm… i knoooow!

A pink mirrorless coolpix sold with rebate:-)

I tell you, no DSLR this year so better to keep on shooting with our gear and wait October 2012. Well it is not good news ’cause this end of the world thing but..better short than never.

Why does everybody want a new camera to be available? What’s wrong with the current D3s? Or the D700? A new model just means you throw your D3s into the trash bin and spend more money. It won’t be worth anything and you won’t be able to sell it since everybody wanting to buy a camera will want the latest and greatest D4. How is a D4 going to make your end product (i.e., the final image which is all that counts) really that much better than it is now?

I hope they don’t introduce a new model until a few more years otherwise I’ll get compelled to be suckered into a new camera when I really don’t need one. That’s the problem with the digital age, the cameras have now become throw away commodities just like cell phones. It used to be we’d buy the latest film emulsion or newest lenses and keep using the same old camera body. Today if we want new ‘film’ it means a whole new sensor and that means a whole new camera. It’s great for industry profits but the joke is really on us.

    • thank you.

    • dr J.

What’s wrong with our D3’s? I am happy, my clients are happy but I can’t see why a D4 would increase my revenues and profit… can you?

    • broxibear

      Hi Banksie,
You’re right in what you say, unfortunately manufacturers want to you to buy the latest products and spend millions on marketing to convince you to do exactly that. They’ll gladly rubbish the old model in order to sell you their new one.
I think with the D3 series image quality is so good that any improvements as far as stills go are going to be small, hence all the who ha about video.
There are people who find themselves in a position where they want or need to upgrade their current equipment, and I understand why they don’t want to spend now on something like a D3s if a D4 is only a few months away…they’re stuck in a no mans land. The other issue is stock, many would buy the current equipment if they could find it in stock but bodies like the D3s and D700 have been on backorder since the earthquake.
I use the D3 and I’m a photographer not a film maker so video is irrelevant to me. I don’t need to upgrade at the moment so I can wait and see what Nikon bring with their D4 and D800 bodies…if the D4 has something I feel I really need I’ll consider buying it in 2012 or 2013.
To be honest I don’t know what feature it could have that I would need…I think I’ll be spending money on other equipment that I do need.

    • haha

If you are happy, that’s good for you. Go out and shoot and don’t waste your time here.

If D700 and D3s are perfect and meet all my needs, will I be looking forward to their successors? I got SB-900, I am happy and not asking for any more speedlight. I got 85 f1/.4D, I am happy and I am not even looking at the 1.4G. I got 14-24, 24-70, 70-200VR2 and I am happy and not asking for any new lens. If you have not outgrow your body, that is your problem. I need a D700 or D3s replacement because they are not meeting certain needs of mine.

  • whatever

Hm, when I look at the mirrorless camera I think it was engineered by the PS team… So what did the DSLR team? Let’s hope 🙂

  • D-RiSe

I have to agree with some of the d700 users here, there’s not much wrong with it. i’dd rather have some new glass.. like a 85 f/1.8 af-s

    • Anon

Sorry, I don’t agree with you. There’s not much point in these sort of ideas “if no new body, then let’s buy glass” What’s the meaning of buying top notch lenses that will pretty outresolve the 12mp sensor? Any FX lens will be do fine on 12mp sensor, the real challenge starts after 20mp.
