And some feedback from Xavier Lhospice after the break:
Pros of the 24/1.4
- Pictures quality due to the Nano coating (as good as the pro-zoom with the same coating)
- Total silence of the autofocus and AFS
- The minimum focus of 0.8 feet (or 25 cm)
- With shallow depth of field, fun to play with
- Heavy enough to make the ratio camera/lense well balanced
- 77cm diameter filter, becoming a standard for pro, so bunch of filters available
- Good price if compared to the Leica (half price about!) with a quality that is close
Cons of the 24/1.4
- The weight can be exhausting if added to a complete camera gear, but not by itself
- Of course the price compared to Canon (plus 800€ approx.)
- Gets these nasty greenish flares due to nano coating but in very strong frontal light situation
