I was able to get my hands on some Kodachrome. From my understanding it's from the very last batch made. Dwanye's Photo is still processing Kodachrome until the end of next year. After that there will no longer be any processors left in the US and I'm thinking the entire world too?
So my dilemma is this. Should I use up these final rolls of Kodachrome? Or should I save them in my bank's vault as an heirloom of something that will never be evermore? :^(

You might want to keep them all, you know in 10 years ebay them, I had 20 odd rolls but my ex cleaned house

I don't know...I remember thinking when I had prints made after I shot my first roll of Kodachrome 25...."man this is almost as good as buttered grits ;)"
Of course I used to be a fan of 8 track tapes too.....so I say, use it or lose it!

I actually just recently got rid of my 8 track stereo system! No joke!
This is really a tough decision on the Kodachrome though.
I would use it! You're right, it'll be hard to get it developed soon, might as well use it before that happens. Just find some subject matter worthy of it.
That's what I'm thinking too tai. But this is from the last batch of Kodachrome EVER made and now I'll be stressing over whether I should push the shutter button or not! I kinda like having these little canisters that say Kodachrome next to my digital stuff.
Keep the canisters (I've still got aluminum film cans with different color tops for different film) and shoot all but one roll. Then you have the joy of shooting the last Kodachrome, but still having one for posterity.

That's what I'd do too. But I'd make sure that I'd make every shot count.
I mean, the film doesn't help you in anyway if you don't process it right? And plus, film can go bad, right?
So you should use it. From what I hear, you need to keep Kodachrome cold. Am I correct?
Yes my little Kodachrome canisters are all stacked up in my fridge like little beer cans :^)
Does Dwanye's Photo send your canisters back after they develop your Kodachrome? I don't think they do because of shipping cost.
ND - what kind of cannisters are the Kodachrome rolls in? The black plastic with grey top?
Does anyone remember the days when the cops were asking photo stores NOT to give the cannisters back, cause people were storing their dope in them !!

Oh, my mistake. I thought you ment the little canisters that the rolls of film came in, not the actual film cannister. Boy am I turning red !! (Quick, where's the kodachome - it's great for reds !!!)
Yeah I want to keep the plastic canisters too! You dont see them as often anymore either! Even the dope fiends no longer use 'em :^)

I love them!
I use them to store loose change all the time. Awesome.
Although I lament the future where film dies and we have no plastic canisters anymore.....
