Well, being a computer dunce, I downloaded LR 4.2 update, everything going well, ejected the desktop icon, and lost the update.... and cannot get the update to work again even after downloading once more. Oh well....LR4.1 seems to work for me...

Eh? That's funny, normally only itunes does that on my PC because it leaves the old shortcut which then points to the removed program. Have you tried running LR4.2 from the start menu?

I would try finding lightroom and making a shortcut from there...or like spray said from the start menu.

close LR application then try again

@ sevencrossing Thanks, I backed-up, closed everything, found LR4.2 in the comkputer and moved it to my external hard drive and viola...now have everything in 4.2...
Old folks really do need NRF!
