Welcome to the [NR] forum JSturr!
I'm not sure. I got a trial with my D300.
I'm thinking it's just a 60 day trial since it says it also comes with Camera Control Pro 2. I doubt Nikon would give away both programs. However the D300 did come with Capture NX when it was first released so maybe...just maybe...hmmm.
That would be great if it did, I'm just waiting for my new D3s to arrive, but I have my doubts that Nikon would give us anything for free in this economy. One can only hope they do! Who ever gets a new D3s first, let us all know will you!!!
I got my D300 is July of 2008. It came with the full version of Capture NX.
I bought my D700 in June of 2009 (in Canada) and only got the trial version.

I've heard two different things about this. The first is that the full version was a limited time thing. The second is that the full version was available more in the US than elsewhere.
I pulled this from the BH web site -- "Exclusive Nikon Software include Nikon Transfer and ViewNX software packages (supplied) for a range of basic photo browsing and editing operations; Capture NX 2, Camera Control Pro 2, and Image Authentication Software (all optional) enable more advanced operation and image editing."
So -- it looks as if NX2 is "Optional" -- bummer -- you would think for $5200 they could throw in a $129.00 piece of software.

I agree. They did for the D3
I suspect there is "no need" for Nikon to offer the full version as soon as the D3s is released. It won't stop people who want to buy the D3s from buying it now.
Next we'll get the price cuts. Then probably a short term offer. Treat 'em mean and keep them keen ;-)
