"The Ville" outside of Camp Casey... not gonna miss this place one bit when I finally go back home on Thursday. :D

A bit blurry, but I was pretty drunk here holding my D7000 w/ battery grip, SB-700 and my Nikkor 24-70 f/2.8, lol

    Exposure 0.017 sec (1/60)
    Aperture f/2.8

    Thanks everyone.

Yeti, you're my hero, I would go crazy with five of those critters running around :p

    Pierre, very nice landscape.

So, I'm thirty today and in a week the little one will be two, time certainly flies.

Hands placed per msmoto's comment. D800, Tokina 100mm macro lens, f16, set on A with -0.3 exposure compensation to let the camera select the proper 1/2 second exposure time. I find it easy to set the mode to A and then shoot a -0.7, -0.3, 0.0, and +0.3 exposure compensation series. I have also tried using in camera HDR to open up the shadows but I find that I need to set the exposure compensation to -0.3 for an HDR shot or it comes out too light.

    Nice, I like very much.

    This is Oradour-sur-Glane, France.

On 10th June 1944, 4 days after D-Day, 642 of its inhabitants, basically the entire population of the town, were massacred by the German Waffen-SS. Most of those massacred were women and children. They were mostly either shot, burnt alive, or both. Before the SS left, they set the entire village alight. Today the place stands pretty much as it was left in 1944, as a reminder and a memorial.

Btw, I am going to Europe in October, starting in Barcelona, then a few stops in Italy. I'm hoping to get some images to match some I see here. I hear carrying the camera knapsack is inviting a mugging, particularly in Spain.
Any suggestions from you travel experts out there?
    Thanks

We drove 8000 km through Spain, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, France and did lots of walking last year and had no problem at all... except that one time in Barcelona where one guy was creating a distraction by banging on the front right side of our parked car (we were inside) while another one was trying to reach bags form the partly opened left-back window. If you have a chance, drive through Andora, great bargain on the east side of that tiny country and beautiful sceneries.

@greybagel: Very nice composition and love the light on her face. Thumps up :D
    @kanuck: Fantastic sun set.
@SquamishPhoto: Great job on the light. Did you use a reflector by any chance?
@SilenceBrokenTT: You are a brave individual to walk around drunk given that setup.
@Rifqi: Happy B-day buddy. Lovely shot of the little lady to. :D
@donaldejose: Nice product shot on flickr...just wish the watch was real. :P
@Postman: The story sure add a whole level of meaning to the shot...very powerful. Thx for the lesson.

In early August I went out and gave the auto-fp high speed sync a shot.

You will have to take a good chunk of Sunflower shots now... :).

This was with two SB9xx on high speed sync. Shot during a regular afternoon.

@Postman, thank you. I had no idea that those areas devastated by war were left as they were.

Wonderful images posted... They continue to be fun to view.

My share, from the SF Botanical Gardens last weekend. Bokeh was the goal, and I think the Nikkor 105mm really helps achieve a wonderful effect.
