Saw this the other night. One could easily substitute Nikon (and the appropriate models) for Canon. If you've never seen the show (VEEP: starring Elaine from Seinfeld), the guy on the right is the VP's staff photographer while the guy with the 1D is an obnoxious White House liaison that everyone dislikes within moments of having met him. This sequence was great...it was like a little inside joke for camera geeks.
Veep is awesome. I remember snickering at that scene when I saw it.

Good video or not, nothing in that video made me want to buy a Sony camera... so failed marketing?

My guess is that we've all been guilty of at least one of these behaviors at one time or another. The next time you start talking to a "civilian" about the trade off between depth of field and diffraction as it relates to various apertures, take a close look and you'll see their eyes start to glaze over.
