Wasn't that filmed in a Canon warehouse ??? :o)
That's how I feel about Photoshop. Avoid at all costs.
To be fair, I have bought a CS4 book by Scott Kelby, but I have barely cracked it yet.
I know I eventually need to learn it, but I feel the framing and photography is more important.
Why'd you buy CS4 then? To become a better photographer? lol
Let's just say I don't think buy would be exactly the right term here...
Meh, PS is so awesome most people cant comprehend its awesomeness.
say you win 5 mill in the lottery, next day you win 10, and the day after that 20, thats how awesome PS is =).
Scott Kelby makes the best PS books and tutorials i know of, along with Matt Kloskowski.
Dig in mate, its so fun once you learn to do the things its really simple.
I used PS to paint in before i started using it for Photos, now i use Corel Painter to paint in and PS and LR for Photos, along with photomatix pro and Hugin.
Ive got all of NIK Software's PS/LR Plugins and same with OnOne's.
Now ill tell you the truth of things.
I love taking photos, but when it comes to editing them in the DD, it rarely happens, if it does ive got Actions and presets set up for most things that can have that.
The photos that get edited the most are those i print.

You use Painter to paint, Lightroom for photos. So what do you use photoshop for Demi?
Your going to hell because of "your" copy of photoshop NSX :^)
Re read my post, i did say i use PS AND LR for photos =).
i paid for my PS copy, sometimes i wish i hadent, ever since i started using LR my visits to PS have become less frequent.
however, LR still missing soft proofing is a major flaw imo, can't live without PS yet, and i reckon it will be a while before that happens.
Well photoshop, despite the name, isn't really meant for photos. It's more than just color correcting and cropping :^)
I started using Painter because it's got lots of tools simulating traditional media, unlike PS.
and yes, i know what PS was originally designed for, now go read my reply to the birding thread, and get ur brains burnt out, i know mine want for a walk before i was done writing all that useless bs, psst, don't tell anyone, but everything i tried to cover is all lies and bs, muahaha!.
Wait until Gentoo reads that. I'm sure he'll appreciate you hijacking his thread even more.
actually hope it gets stickied, to help new people venturing into birding.
Also, you haven't noticed my tripod/head fetish yet, right?.
