A company I worked with hired an ad agency for a brochure. We needed product shots, hired a professional photographer, brought equipment to a studio and watched the art director tell the photographer everything. The photographer was involved in solving problems, but the images taken were what the director wanted. The photographer's only job was satisfying the art director's needs. The photographer had as much artistic vision as an X-Ray tech. So much for the glamorous creative life!

What's the difference between a commercial photographer and other types of photographers?

This is survey based rating so it is mostly based on the opinion of the people doing the particular job.
I know I would not be very popular here for saying this but I think commercial photographers are too spoiled and vain if they are claiming their job is so stressful.Posted 3 years ago # -
one of my dreams has been shattered... LOL

Being a poor, laid-off news reporter, she didn't have money to see a social worker, so she talked to her minister (#10) who suggested she could take a more meaningful job as her church's music director (#5) while getting her life straight. Still, despite all the good advice she ended up blowing her sorrows in a coke binge worthy of a Hollywood TV producer (#14) and ended up needing to sell all her photography equipment.
So now she's undercutting your Craigslist business and driving down your sales price to the point where you're gonna need a fundraiser (#7) just to make rent.
