Can you post up a sample photo of the problem? Were you using flash? Actually no, don't post a sample here. Some members don't like chit-chat on the Photo-A-Day thread. Start a new thread to address the problem and I'm sure your get lot's of responses with ideas/solutions.

Aww... its a doggy. I'm a sucker for those guys, but if I had to invent a reason why I like it, I'd say the colors are really nice and vivid.

Aprile... Also great colors. Overexposed? sure. But only in the clouds. You may try dropping it in something like viveza. It won't recover the detail, but at least it won't look like God is in there. As a whole, I think the picture really works.

I'll spare you guys another shot of the bar and instead post my first foray into Macro work.

    Mouse

Hmm... maybe I should stick to the bar.

I agree, looks great with only the sky clipping is a compromise I'd be willing to live with. The JPG is clipped hard - no recovery possible with curves, but is the RAW (if in existance) equally clipped?

guys - live aprile alone, there's always photoshop, so she could paint the color and even add a nice rainbow :)

I can not keep up with all of the great shots that I want to comment on here. Everyone is just hitting it out of the park this month. It is inspiring and a little intimidating!
I am really enjoying the water drop battle.

Willis - I love the bar shot. I like the motion blur of the people contrasted with the steadfastness of the beer! But, Natty Light? Really? I haven't drank that since college ;) Wait, are you in college?

Regulator - you are becoming my hero, no matter what you shoot it is so impressive. I love your composition and color in every picture.

NikoDoby - Until I knew your picture was a dunk tank, it kind of creeped me out - thats good :) I love the intense colors.

Aprille - You do beautiful, creative portraits. I love everything you have put up here.

Gentoo - I agree with your friend, it is fun to see all of these non-birds.

Hearty - I hope you will be able to stick around more. I also like the contrast between father and daughter and the way he is looking at her.

Here is my own father / daughter shot. I went through a major silhouette phase this summer.

Jessi - Its more of a lifestyle thing. If I'm not drinking natural light, my go to solution is either a Mexican Beer, or a good IPA if they have one. On average, I go out about three times a week. A pitcher of Natural Light runs about $5.50. A Pitcher holds 60 ounces so I'd need 5 bottles (about right for my lady and I) of Dos Equis at $3.50 a pop or $17.50. So on any given night I'll save about $12 drinking natural light. Multiplied by three nights a week, your looking at $36 per week or $1,872 per year in savings... After factoring in tip, that's almost enough to purchase that D700 I've had my eye on. The rest of it comes from making sure to catch happy hour so its half price.

What Niko? Without the D700's low light performance, I'll never get those bar shots crisp :)

Not even with a large format camera will your bar photos be sharp, lol
