Thanks Gentoo, I've never heard of Pbase. I did comment on one of your Seattle pics.
Thanks for sharing.
Adamz- nice vivid colors.
Bmxdad- I thought that was real at first, haha
Jonnyapple- great sense of motion...I really like that photo.
Gentoo- cool reflection
Mb- that's very cool...fog makes for great photos, but we don't get enough here...
PBrigido- those are pretty.....I really like the last one.
Regulator75- I can almost feel cold, crisp air when I look at this.

My friend VJ who just finished recording her demo. I took some photos for her today. (first time anyone has asked me to take photos for them before)
Nice aprille. Let me know when she releases a CD.
aprille - another nice portrait, love the perspective
regulator - nice framing, the trees really make a good job, have You consider panoramic format for this picture, it may look good that way
PBrigido - I really like the first shoot, the one with sailboat, great colors, and nice silhouette (if You have viveza, You could play a little bit on the left side, to bring some details from shadows); the second one would work better with sun and water only w/o the couple - in a 16:9 cropping; as for the 3rd one, too much contrast between foreground and background, in shots like this You can use either multiple exposures and than play in PS, or use ND filter
jonnyapple - nice panning, almost like Nike commercial :)
mb - the sky is too dull
gentoo - too much sharpening, nice capture of water reflection
pete - You could use flash sync on rear curtain to freeze the car a little bit, but I really like the panning
aprille - I am really ... liking? .. no, loving your shots. There is great affection projecting from your images...
Hey adamz. Thanks for the feedback. After looking at the shots again, I can clearly see your points...especially with the too much contrast in the 3rd shot. For the 2nd shot, I have always been hesitant of putting my subjects in the center of the photo. So I included the people just to offset it. But after cropping it down to the 16:9 (roughly) and removing the people, I do like it, even though the Sun is in the center.
I think your photos are fine PBrigido. The only thing that bothers me about the middle shot is that it looks like someone's walking on all fours!
lol you are right Niko! Maybe I'll just remove that one guy. :)
Happy Thanksgiving everybody! :^)
Um I'll comeback here and post a picture of some food...
Thanks heartyfisher, it's so encouraging to hear that.
I know, horrible composition(again) but I was too itchy to lay back down on that. =)
Happy Thanksgiving!
mb - the sky looks great, nice texture
aprille - another day, another great picture!
regulator - nice long exposure, nice framing and very interesting subject

Took this at the UBC botanical garden in Vancouver. It's cropped pretty hard, and probably oversharpened, though that might not be obvious as this isn't at 100%.
Becasue it's Thanksgiving, here's a two fer. This is so far the hardest bird that I have ever photographed. Talk about hyperactive! They're also very tiny. A 2.8 prime would be better for this but I managed to stop him:
That looks a little colder compared to the +40°C days we've been experiencing recently in Sydney lol
Pebble Beach :)
There have been so many fantastic photos here since I last posted I'm almost ashamed to add mine, but here comes a recent one.
Hal
Gentoo, I've been gone for awhile, have a new knee. I believe this picture is of a pair of common Grackles, male and female, Am I correct?
They're grackles that's for sure. It's hard to tell from the angle they're at here but they look like Great-Tailed Grackles, especially if they were rather large, almost crow sized. Common Grackles are a little larger than a Robin, certainly smaller that Great-Tails. Where was it taken? That major for bird ID pictures. Also they are two males, birds in this family settle disputes more with displays and calls more than actually fighting. That's what they're doing here. All three grackles in the US as well as Brewer's and Rusty Blackbirds have a display much like this.
The picture was taken at Lakes Park in Fort Myers, FL. They are about the size of a crow.
For those of you in the frigid climes, we still have these growing out doors in S. Florida. Just trying to warm you a little.

And now that I look again, they appear to have brown eyes. That size and that eye color means that these are not common Grackles, they're too big and Common Grackles have yellow eyes. Size wise seems right for Great-Tailed but the eyes are the wrong color and Great-Tails would be a real rarity in Florida.
That leaves the only species not mentioned; Boat-Tailed Grackle. This species has yellow eyes along the eastern seaboard but brown along the gulf coast. Darkish yellow or light brown or brown in Florida.
Thanks Gentoo, there's a lot more to identifying species than first meets the EYE;>)
