    Oxford Mill

The Old Oxford Mill, located in Oxford, Kansas, was built in 1876 for a total of $15,000. It produced flower and flower products until 1973 when it ceased operation. It was placed on the National Register, #82002677, in 1982.
The mill is now a museum and restaurant operated by Old Oxford Mill Entrepreneurship Center and run by Oxford High School Students. Students are involved in all aspects of planning and carrying out of activities. Profits are used for student scholarships.

The boy on the bench was added from another view. I thought it gave a little more perspective.

About my last shot: b&w conversion was done in post production w/ silver efex pro. I used the high structure preset and tweaked the tone curve a bit. There's something about bar light (lots of red and mostly from neon sources that looks great after b&w conversion. I'll pitthe color version out there whe I get a chance.

Gentoo- Love that rabbit! The sunlight coming through the ears looks very cool.

adamz, nice atmospheric shot, I feel the third world war, we are ahead the rest of the world, anyway :)

Willis, nice toneful conversion, could you compare the Silver Efex Pro to the conversion tools of Capture NX?

aprile - very nice moody picture, love the colors, perspective, bokeh

    Pbrigido -love the colors

regulator - interesting perspective, although next time be very carefull to hold Your camera in a horizontal position, as the picture is not even - left side is higher than righ side

gentoo - nice rabitt, I'm glad You see other animals apart from birds :)

drkbl - nice lightning, Your picture reminds me of pumpkin pie :)

robert - nice to see that You still with us, as for the added boy, the whole composition looks good, but You should play a little bit with levels as the white of his shirt is too white, should be more dull in order to play good with the whole lightning on Your picture

@RobertD, it is a nice composition but have you tired a PS addon called PTLens? It looks to me like you have some barrel distortion in the shot. I think it will let you edit 10 shots for free and it doesn't cost much either.

    @aprillejanine, very nice

@adamz, I like the grainy look of the shot, nice catch!

Adamz - What an incredible shot!
Really inspirational pictures everyone. Willis,I am with everyone else loving the B&W in your "dive" shot :)
Monty11 - So much detail, what did you use?
aprillejanine - Another beautiful shot. I love the setting.

This is my daughter, Annabel, last month on her 2nd Birthday:

To be honest, I don't know if I like it because it is good or if I like it because it is my daughter...

That's a great shot. I love the look on her face. Hope she managed to get the candles out. Of course that would have made it dark which might have scared her :)

Aprille, great shot. I told her that I expect her to be one of my subjects at one point too LOL.

Jessi, this shot is both cute and spooky at the same time. That takes talent that I don't have.

    Robert, great composition and perspective.

I like all of what I've seen here but I'm lazy and don't feel like typing anymore at the moment lol

Thank you Willis and Gentoo. Also, Gentoo - thank you for the wildlife shooting tips. I suspected that it was kind of complex...

Drkbl- Great halloween shot! I love how you can't see any of the pumpkin but the glowing face.

    Monty11- Very cool, amazing detail!

Jessi- So cute....the light is perfect. What ISO were you using?

aprillejanine - Love the girl on the fence. I keep trying to put some kind of narrative around it every time I look at it.

Monty - For the leaf shot, did you back light it with the sun or is that a flash? I like it. It would also make a nice texture to mix into a photo shop project (of course it stands up on its own right).

Here's one for today... not my best work, but was done entirely from my phone:
    Lake Austin

I've been having a lot of fun with the Pano shots lately. I'm going to have to download a desktop program so that I can do it with my Nikons.

    Phone? Wow....
when I look at the water, it feel like it's actually moving towards me.
Now that I think about it....I've never tried a panorama before. I'll have to get on that =)

    You're welcome.

I think I'll write up a wildlife shooting thread similar to the small bird one I did a while back and ask admin to sticky it.

Flash under an opaque glass table to enlarge the area, as when I put it directly on the flash, then the flash edges showed through.

Wow...lots of great shots to start the month of November.

aprillejanine...Talk about a dreamy portrait...fantastic!..I wish that I could rent your eye for a week :)

Jessi...very good, and your daughter looked like she was having so much fun.

Willis...I'm jealous...it's not fair that you can take a better shot with a phone than I can with a D3X loaner!

Gentoo...love the rabbit....I have a yard full of them :>)

    Top three

Aprillejanine - The effect in the water is, I think, a byproduct of the stitching process. I held my phone in a fixed spot and shot 180 degrees left to right. When it puts them all together, it looks curved, but it isn't really. That red bar at the bottom right was actually straight up and down if that gives you any idea. It's basically really heavy barrel distortion.

As far as i know, there aren't any distortion correction apps for the iPhone yet (There's not an app for that?).

Regulator... I'm speechless. That's a really nice shot! It's even got some really interesting negative space going on.
