Just realized I haven't formally introduced myself!
Little bit about me:
Name is Nick, age 28, and I'm currently enlisted in the US Air Force; stationed in Germany. Married to my wonderful wife Jenny who graciously puts up with my expensive hobby(s). Jenny is actually my high school sweetheart; we have a little bit of history.
As far as a photography background I haven't been around for very long like some. During my first assignment in Okinawa Japan, a co-worker was into photography. Having a love for art (Who doesn't?), I decided why not make my own art!? I ran to the BX having done not one single piece of research and purchased a Nikon D70 kit (18-70mm Lens came with it). I didn't even know what to do with this thing! Silly me, I operated this wonderful piece of machinery on AUTO for the better half of a year. Finally, I got the courage to start working in Aperture & Shutter mode, reading more and more and eventually graduating from those settings and going FULL MANUAL! Crazy, I know.
I had my D70 for a few years, taking pictures here and there but never really went head first into photography and "seeing the light". Work was work and my list of hobbies grew. I sold the D70 (that was stupid) and went without a camera for a couple of years and shot primarily on point-and-shoots.
Fast forward, still following photographers and keeping an eye on Nikon I couldn't stand it anymore. Luckily, the BX here in Germany was having a Nikon Roadshow. I didn't really expect them to have much, except for a shiny new D300s. It had my name written all over it.
So, without making this a wall of text. I starting accumulating gear, specifically lighting gear, DVDs and books to help me along my journey of having fun and doing well.
So, that's a little about me. Glad to be here; great community!
