Hey, it worked for the cell phone thing right? ;)
Maybe we can try the same thing for the f4 line of lenses heh

I agree. Nikon needs to start working on an affordable FF DSLR. From what everyone is saying, or at least what I hear, FF is the future (duh) and it seems like DX will be phased out eventually. It'd be insane to see an entry level DSLR that was FF. I guess we all just have to wait for the costs to go down, i think that might the major issue here, as the cost to make the actual sensor is quite expensive, but like all technology, once it is adapted and embraced, it becomes eventually affordable.

BTW, I like your BMX pictures, you should post some in the Photo-a-day thread

I totally agree, but the only thing that I could see Nikon arguing against such an idea would be that a good amount of people that buy entry level DSLRs have no clue what Full Frame means, but then again, people not too heavily involved in digital photography assume that a 15 megapixel camera is going to make them an amazing photographer, which we know isn't the case. But I would love to see an affordable FF, I mean, at least Nikon users can use DX lenses (for the most part) on full frame Nikon bodies. I work with a guy that uses a 5D mark II and he can't use like, half of his lenses because they are only compatible with the Canon DX style bodies...but I just hate having to keep in mind what lenses would suit me right now with the 1.5 crop on the D300 (like, a 17-55 f/2.8, but eventually, if go FF, I will want to get a 24-70, but as of now a 24-70 wouldn't give me as wide of an angle as a 17-55).

Really a D90 size is not going to be an entry level Camera, being that the cost would be near the cost of the Pro-DX D300(s). But it would allow me an entry to FX at lower cost and the smaller size would be great for scenery photography
There are so many Nikon prime lenses that would work great also, just like the cheap 50 F1.8 which just does not work the same on DX

What makes you think Nikon's not thinking about a D90 style FF camera?
Also, as much as FF cameras are much better at high ISO than DX, I'm already waist deep in DX lenses, so I really am not going to switch over to FF anytime soon.

D700 is as affordable FX as Nikon should do.
Larger viewfinder makes it difficult to make full frame camera any smaller really.
DX has some advantages over FX, smaller size overall, shorter and therefore smaller tele lenses needed ... and overall IQ is usually good enough even for professionals.Posted 3 years ago # -

I can see no problem in making a D90 size FX camera. Yes the smaller FX body is not for everyone, but I would love to use one with just a 50mm on it, anyway I think it will see the light of day and hopeful soon

Personally, I'd buy the D700 even if a FX D90 came out.
I love metal bodies, the bigger viewfinder, etc.
I've said it again and again, if the D90 was metal bodied, I'd probably buy it. But that's mostly also because I have DX lenses. A grand total of only 2, but still, 2. :D

A D700 equivalent sensor will be put in the D90 body in mid-2010, it'll be called the D9000. The D7000 will be the replacement of the D90 with cropped sensor. I don't have inside information, it's just common sense.. the same way the D300 sensor is now in a D5000.

But this camera has to be priced lower that the current D700, so smaller metal body version of the D700 will not get that done, to costly. Yes the D90 is not as tough as the D700 but it is tougher than D40/60/3000 kind of cameras
Just my 5 cents
