Wow Terry you sure have committed a huge amount time and energy for $ 20.00, Yes retail advertisement can have errors and with wast amount adds everywhere corrections does not always happen in an instant, move on, enjoy your new D40

terry067, why do you keep complaining? You presented your case, blew off steam worth a lot more than $20 (like Pete put it) and even got an answer to B&H. When something has been solved in a forum then it is general practice on many forums to close the thread. The thread will still be available for viewing.
I think that it would be appropriate to return the suggestion: you need to loosen the collar, go out & shoot something, instead of doing your best to offend people on this forum.

What a waste of time this thread has been.
Although that nugget from Helen about setting up your own Web Page and becoming an affiliate is worth the price of admission. I've got about $4k of equipment to buy in the next 12-24 months, so that will save me a Benjamen and change (although, truth be told, I'll probably just use the link here... I'm lazy).
For the record, I've purchased from B&H and Adorama, both are good retailers. In most states, stores are not required to honor erroneous ads in newspapers provided they take steps to correct the ad. It sounds like B&H is trying to take corrective action, but fixing the ghost in the machine isn't always as simple as running a newspaper correction.
Terry: If you've already purchased your camera, then you've just come here to troll. There are plenty of dishonest camera retailers out there, lets not pick on the honest ones. $469 for the D40 + Kit is an amazing price.

bmxdad...this issue has been going on since july....is that time enough for B&H to straighten it out, I think so, or do they get a pass for being B&H...if ford advertised a mustang GT for $15,000 & you went to go buy it, how much do u think u should pay...& when you showed the salesman @ a ford dealership this ad, he tells you that the ad was frm 1965, we just didnt take the ad down, or off the air, & that it's not his fault, fords has been in business since 1908 (?) & we can do what we want...how would you feel

One thing I don't get is why are you bashing henryp? He took the time and posted an explanation to the problem and I didn't notice any attitude in the post. Though I wouldn't have seen anything wrong with some attitude as a customer is king only as long as the customer is worthy of being treated like one. Your kind is an entrepreneur's worst nightmare and in my company such clients are asked to take their business elsewhere.

Damn Jerry all of this for $20 dollars that you didn't even spend since you supposedly got the D40 for a better price elsewhere. I'd hate to be the guy behind the counter when you get overcharged a penny at the liquor store 'round the corner. But wait your only 12 years old so your not suppose to be drinking anyway.
