I want to get my son a D40 so that he can keep his hands off of my d700, i clicked on the B&H link frm this site which shows a price of $449 but now their price is $20 more, when i'm led to thier site. Why does everyone think that B&H is so honest, when they are no better than Beach Camera, if they dont honor their prices
B&H not honoring price advertised on this site

I wouldn't blame B&H, this site probably didn't get updated with a price increase. I've never found ethical issues with B&H or Adorama.

did you add it to your shopping cart. Sometimes the price on their website is higher than what is shown in your shopping cart.
Also I think you have to have your cookies enabled on your browser?

What Niko said. B&H publishes most items at list price until you add it to your cart (same reason Amazon doesn't show the price of some items).

tried it already...price still $20 more than advertised

Then it's probably what Ted2001 said. It's not really B&H fault. Maybe Henry Posner from BH can help you. He's a member of the forum here.
Amazon's got the D40 listed for $456USD right now.

If it's not B&Hs' fault, then who's fault is it ... mine! I've been shopping @ B&H for 20 yrs, i know that they are not thieves, but when you advertise something (camera gear) with prices that change more than gas prices, you shouldnt post a price w/the product unless your going to honor it...If Beach Camera did it, & i called them crooks,........... everyone would agree

Then shop directly from BH and not a website that's already made money off of you just because you clicked the link to BH. If BH had $449 on it's website and then sold it to you for $469 then yes that's wrong. But BH has no control over what other website advertise.

Once again ..the ad is frm B&H...not frm nikon forum, not frm NIKoDoby, if a price is not going to be honored...DONT PUT THE PRICE IN YOUR AD !!

Now, now, easy with the capslock ;^)
Let it go this time. Maybe B&H screwed up, but how often do they do that? If it bugs you that much, then I would contact them.

Rex......... you are a sage

One of the best things anybody's ever told me :^) Glad to have helped.

Calm down terry! Yes it's an ad for BH but it's not directly from BH! If what Ted2001 suggest is true then how is BH suppose to control that? I guess you want to sue BH now because you found an ad on NikonRumors that wasn't the price at BH!
I've tried being helpful to you. I gave you the name of a person who actually works for BHphoto, but if that's not enough then....

1 - It is B&H's ad. They paid for it regardless of who hosts it. It is their content.
2 - It is an internet ad, they can withdraw it when a price-change comes down the pike. It isn't a newspaper insert.
3 - The only reason there is a price discrepancy between internet ads and internet retailers is the retailers' inaction.EDIT
4 - Turned off adblock to see the offending banner. It's a google adsense ad. B&H has full control if they so choose.Posted 3 years ago # -
Then what....I've already made my peace NIKo...didnt u see my last post....btw i am familiar w/the director of corporate communication a.k.a. henry posner....you dont seem to read my posts, i've been shopping w/B&H before digital, i know the who's who

Sopa....you are also a sage....the rest must work @ B&H...lol
Posted 3 years ago # -
If you know who's who then why are you asking us here? What's your point then? This is your first posting here under this name so how I'm I suppose to know what you already know and don't. I was tring to be helpful to you terry. You say your from the bronx so call BH directly or go in person and ask them to honor the price.

And my name really is Niko not NIKo.

I wish I did work for B&H or Adorama, can I say EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT! Just dreaming. I guess I don't expect perfection in my retailers. I expect them to honor the prices at their websites.
