Lately when I enter the Blog area I get this annoying Alpha Antivirus Spam thing and can only stop it by restarting my Computer, I run XP and use McAfee Security Center. It starts after my mouse moves over certain links on the blog description
Or is this related to my last comment about the Sony Alpha camera
Am I just going crazy or have you had this happen also

Do you run Firefox? I run Ad Block Plus and it blocks everything. No problems here.

Admin said he's aware of the problem and he'll take care of it when he gets back from the PhotoPlus show. Seems to be a problem for Canadian visitors only. I have no idea why that would be?
I'm starting to get that annoying ad "box" at the top of every post recently and I'm on FF353. I wasn't seeing it before?
Because we Canadian are suckers for the Spam things. I'm still waiting for my million dollars from that guy in Nigeria. Ya lately the BOX want's to find DpReview for me but I been telling over and over that I know were to find it. You know I am going to try to that Ken thing and see if my Box will help me out

I think I located and isolated the source of those annoying ads (some of them with sound). If someone is still getting them, please drop me a line. It took me some time because I was in NY at the PDN PhotoPlus expo.
forgot to mention - empty your browser's cache - those ads could still be there

So when you use the NR search box(the white box on the left margin of the forum main page) you get the "ad box" with your search results on top of every post? I did a search for bmxdad and now I get ads for bmx bikes and equipment.
Niko: I just tried to search in the Google Box and nothing, After installing Ad Block Plus the box has not showed up.

Yeah, I updated Adblocker again. I think when I updated firefox the adblocker I had was no longer compatible or something? It has since disappeared (ad box). I never had a problem with ads on this site until very recently :^(
I was getting that Alpha Virus thing again when entering the blog area, OH ya I had just updated to a new Firefox, so after re-installing Adblocker Plus it looks to be OK again

bmxdad - did you just get it again? I will look into it - this was supposed to be fixed now.
I checked with the advertisers - they assured me that they have removed those annoying ads (including the ones that make sounds). Could it be that this was still cached in your browser from last week? Anyone else seeing those warnings?
I had done a Firefox update and was looking at blogs and then this Alpha thing started just like last time, but after re-installing Adblocker Plus I was OK again
