I can't open photos taken with my Nikon D800 (NEF format) in my apple (iMac) Preview app.
Does anyone know what should I do? My Apple in the old 24" iMac.

You should try to update your Mac. The D800 is supported by Apple, I do not know which is the oldest OS X version that does, but Lion does: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4757 )

update Your Apple RAW codecs, it works w/o any problems.
