Hi all, after hours of googling I'm a little desperate, and I'm hoping someone will be able to help. I just bought a refurbished (by Nikon) D7000 and got it yesterday, but the mode dial seems to be literally stuck in place. The release mode dial is moving and changing itself without a problem, but the mode dial — nothing. However, when I change settings on the release mode dial, the mode dial settings do seem to be changing (though I can go no farther than shutter priority and no flash).

I'm new to Nikon and I'm hoping (but not very confident) this is something someone else has encountered. I know the best answer here is "send it to Nikon," but I'm kind of in a pinch and was depending on this to be the primary body for a shoot I'm doing a week from Friday. If it were stuck on manual this wouldn't be a problem …

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

I'd say don't even bother. The camera is supposed to be 100% functional, warrantied for 90 days. Call Nikon and explain this to them and have them send you another one next day air while that one is on the way back to them.

Or rent/borrow a body while you wait.

borrowlenses.com is awesome. A 3-day with insurance will cost you $78
