Here's a closer view of the Roosevelt Bridge in Stuart, Florida. To get here was a 50 mile (80.5kilometer) drive from home after working all day so in order to not regret anything I manually focused all shots using Live View.

Well it looks like August is off to a good start. The beach was very hazy this morning but managed a decent GBH flying by.

@Rx4Photo - Pretty! Are you using a star filter of any sort?

Thanks Eric, no star filter though. The small aperture causes those sunstars in the lights.
Excellent photos all, on the previous page and this one.
Noxin, nice lighthouse photo. My wife collects miniatures.
Juergen, great timing. Looks like his/her thirst has been quenched.Posted 9 months ago # -
@juergen: you really work for Nikon and get a commission off every D4 sold right?
@noxin: nice image. I especially like the tiny wind swept tree in the background. Reminds you of what the conditions are in bad weather.
@Rx4: Your are correct. As a newbie on this forum I have looked back as far as two years ago and what a transformation has taken place. Every image here is top notch.D90 10-24mm 10mm-iso200

Sticking with the water theme...
And, for the pixel peepers...the D4 at 5,600 ISO, 16-35mm f/4.0 VR 1/250 sec f/4.0 through 1 inch of dirty Lexan:

I thought I'd share an underwater photo as well. This was shot in Cozumel off the shore at Scubaclub Cozumel. Depth was about 25ft. The coloration is pretty cool... I think the flounder is supposed to look like a rock with a shadow around it. This guy was hunting and on top of a rock, otherwise they are difficult to spot from a distance.

I'd love to know where half the landscapes that are posted actually are. This is the spitting image of Mount Taranaki, NZ. Perfect volcano shape with a little 'shoulder'.@Postman, request noted. The photograph is of Mt. Hood taken from Terwilliger Boulevard in the west hills of Portland, Oregon approximately 50 miles to the west.

Thank you Beso!
Continuing the lighthouse theme, Waipapa Point on the southern coast of New Zealand's south island. Man, I miss that country so much.

Here's another lighthouse. I took this one some years ago in Devonport, Tasmania using an FM3a on slide film.

Crater Lake, Oregon taken from the Northeast Rim. Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the United States at 1,943 feet. It was formed 7,700 years ago when Mt. Mazama exploded in a massive eruption creating the caldera. The lake ranges from 4.5 to 6 miles wide with the rim averaging about 1000 feet above the lake.

Yes, it is a functioning lighthouse. The house attached to it (see below) is the home for the commander of Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England. There was a sign saying it's open for public tours once a month.

Two South Korea shots back to back! Sad I never got a chance to get to Busan though...Anywho, my pic was taken with my iPhone4 yesterday since I had to turn my D7000 in to get serviced for the week. Went to Lotte World in Jamsil afterwards... love me a good Intamin launched coaster.

This a shot of The King's Walkway (Camino del Rey) in El Chorro, Southern Spain. It was constructed to allow access for hydro electric workers but is now derelict and has large holes in the path in places.
It used to be open to tourists but access has been closed though anyone with the desire and preferably a harness can get access.Posted 9 months ago #
