Anyone use this software?
I think there may have been a thread that talked about it before but I'm too groggy to look now as I just woke up.
If you used it, what do you think?

Looks OK. I'm not sure what it does that a traditional layer editor can't, but if it does it more quickly then why not for just $70? I will say that I didn't find the web page particularly promising, but I've laearned that there isn't always a good correlation.
I'll shut up now and let somebody who has actually used the software talk about it.

I use it quite alot and its worth the money in the sheer time it saves you i can finish a portrait in under 5 mins for a client now instead of spending about 1 hr airbrushing and generally retouching . Just download the trial version and give it a go, i dont like its reshaping aspect but just remove that in the tools box and you get a perfectly retouched shot in seconds

Well, thanks for the info everyone.
I asked this question because I had the trail version I recently purchased it for the reasons SCrlt mentioned. It's a lot faster and although it's designed for human faces only, it's quite fast at making adjustments.
I'm still playing with it and having some fun with it.

I finally decided to buy Portrait Professional Software by Anthropics software. I've seen there ad banners for quite a while and clicked through their sites examples and even watched a couple of before and after videos on youtube. After downloading I went to work on my first photograph and I'm totally blown away by how easy and effective this software is. I don't know how they do it! Brilliant tool.

I used PP for awhile and it was ok. I think for around the same price I would use Mama Shans Powders. I have been much happier with this for a quick fix. If I wanted great results I work with photoshop. I feel as though the portrait Proffessional gives a slightly plastic look. Which might be what some want. It is easy to use and quick though. It kinda depends on your work flow.

I do not use it, nor do I use any of the computer programs which are similar. Maybe those who have experience can tell me if one can set it up to just remove partially the lines, etc., as I have always seen demos which alter the face in a manner which I find quite objectionable. In doing the retouching I do in Lightroom 4, I do work on eyes and mouth, but always maintain the shape, altering only contrast and saturation.
So, maybe someone can enlighten me if this is a great program for everyone.

Portrait Professional (PP) allows you to control each segment of the face independently. Initially you set a few parameters and the software applies changes to the entire face. But after this step you're given roughly a dozen additional controls/sliders similar to LR4 where you can control the intensity of the effect OR eliminate that portion of the effect all together. It doesn't just apply one massive wash over the face and you're done. It allows you complete control over each side of each section of the face piece by piece. There are several Youtube videos that show how it works along with the sliders, etc.
As far as eleminating just the lines, I assume you can control the output to work just one specific portion of the face, shoulders, etc. Keep in mind I've only had the software a short time.

I have it, use it sometimes - but find it worthwhile to have. There is a lot of latitude for the editing for all types of skin nuances as well as selective areas. Their "demo" ads do poor justice as they go too far and turn people into plastic dolls. You can really control it and make it very subtle and unnoticeable. Portraits on older individuals with complex skin markings are one of the most time consuming edits if they don't want those in the photo. For that it works very well and takes easily only a 1/4 of the time editing. In and out in less then 10-15 minutes. In my work flow I used it after Lightroom and all other adjustments.
Certainly worth a look for those who are not stellar at skin fixes in PS or who have photos of individuals with less than ideal skin.

Right. The adds show extreme examples in order to be very noticeable in the small ad photos. You can adjust the software to work very gently or more extensively.
I wouldn't be afraid of it. It is not "all or nothing."

Totally by chance, I had to use it today.
Just got to remember to be gentle with some of the sliders as its very easy to get skin tones going from shiny to blurry with nothing in between. HAHAHAHAHA....

But it can make people look far better than they really do look! That should be worth tons to some people.

That is definitely one of the nice things about this Portrait Professional...you can dial each effect individually from nothing to overdone. You can even take a few pounds of someone ala Before & After. ;)

They're obviously about to bring out a completely new version of the software as they are offering a free upgrade to anyone who buys the current version at the moment. 15% discount is good cyclekraft, as the commonly advertised code only gives you 10%. Also worth mentioning that the program comes in 3 guises each with different bells and whistles, the cheapest version doesn't allow you to edit RAW.
