Hi All,
I have a Yongnuo 565EX and it is giving me a strange problem with my Nikon D800.
The slave modes work fine using the popup flash in commander mode. However when I connect the flash directly onto the hot shoe, when the camera's light meter is on, the flash starts strobing by itself. It's not strobing as the modelling light function as it is strobing at a much slower frequency. I tested the flash on two different cameras (D5100 & D3200) and it doesn't happen on those ones. To make things even more strange, when I connect the flash to the camera via a ttl cable the problem goes away. The ttl cable has the same pinouts as the hotshoe. There is nothing special in the ttl cable. I've tried jiggling the flash in the shoe and that doesn't fix it. I've looked at the contacts and I can't see anything out of the ordinary. I've been meaning to test the camera with a genuine Nikon flash but I haven't got one nor can I find anyone who does.
Anyone have similar experience or ideas as to why this is happening?
Thanks
