Short story. Work for 5 years with both programs. Installed all the upgrades inc. Lion. Everything worked fine until last week. Something happened with the systemUIServer.app. It failed. Did a Lion recovery and solved.
But after that VNX2 and CNX (both 2.3.2) won't work anymore. All on my ProMac.
My Macbook Pro has exactly the same configuration. I cloned it (with CCC) on one of my spare disks in the Promac. Start with de "ALT" butten pressed and see everything worked (I mean the foto's) fine. Only I have to move all my pictures from one disk to another and so I can do my photography work further.

So who can explain me which file in Lion is the wrong one? The upgraded (Tiger, leopard, Lion) or the brandnew fresh Lion (10.7.4)?
and what is the name of this file??

I hope to hear soon, Regards peter

Hello, after downloading VNX2 (latest release to use with mountain lion) this is now working. Still waiting for an answer for my problem. If NX3 is near, maybe that will solve it. Still working with Aperture and all the Nik filters. regards peter

From another thread I replied to a few months back:

Here is what I would try:

    1. Download/install AppCleaner (cirrent ver. 2.0.6) from FreeMacSoft dot net
    2. Download/install Cache Out X (Current version 5.0.5) from trilateralsystems dot com
    3. Verify and repair your "Macintosh HD"
    4. Use AppCleaner to remove LR and CNX2
    5. Run Cache Out X
    6. Have you installed any new RAM/HDD and not update PRAM or System Controller?
    i. If you have google how to reset PRAM and/or system controller
    7. From a terminal look for any directories or files from CNX2 or LR
    Check Applications, /Library Application Support & /Users/<your ID>/Library/Application Support - Remove them
    8. Re-install LR and CNX2

    HTH

Jeff thanks, I've tried this all, app cleaner, cache out but there was nothing in my pc which was related to NX2. Went to Nikon site and there the software NX2 2.3.0 complete latest version was removed. Only the update was available. So I think they are working on the new version for OSX 10.7.4 and Mountain Lion. I will wait for that, regards peter

    You may try this :
launch Terminal (in Applications/Utilities), then do the following command in Terminal (as it is) :

    open ~/Library/Saved\ Application\ State/

This will open a finder with the folder containing the "saved state" of all applications.
Here, remove any reference to CNX or VNX.

This may solve your issue. Just did the same for a thirdparty software which was not running anymore on Lion.

Take care not to remove anything else here, although it should not matter, I'll not be responsible of anything...

I completly disable this folder on my Mac as I hate this behaviour.

I just checked with my MAC and it shows CNX2 2.3.0 full version available...You have to login to your account maybe to see the full version.

I do not have it installed on my MBP. I use CNX2 on my Mac Mini. I just upgraded it the other day to 10.8.1 and Capture NX2 2.3.2 still launches fine and works.

I d/l CNX2 2.3.0 and the 2.3.2 update and just installed it on my MBP running 10.7.4 and it installed fine, launches & I can open and manipulate images.

I have had issues in the past with CNX2 not shutting down properly. Try right-clicking the "NX 2" icon on the tray and see if "force quit" is available. Could be it never stopped from the last time it was successfully launched.

Did you uncheck the "relaunch windows when logging back on" from the shutdown dialogue box? That is a dumb feature and I am glad they made it default to off finally.

    Later,
    Jeff

    Hello Jeff.
rel. 2.3.0 is no longer available. Even in English and in Netherlands (Dutch). So I think they're working on it. And still I removed everything from CNX2.
Here (Holland) they released a week ago a new VNX2 for mountain Lion, This will work fine now on my Promac. But CNX2 gives still the message: (translated from Dutch):

Your operating system has not the possibility to start NX2
Than, CNX2 does not support this volumestructure so this installationprogram will now be closed.

So still not working with CNX2.

Who can help me, regards peter

Chris, sorry this is not working on my Mac. regards, peter.
Si I still have a powermac with 4 discs, 2 for backup, 1 is my main disc and 1 is the clone from my wife's MBP. Including all the same specs as my promac. On this clone I can work with CNX2 but this costs me hours to swith every time. But my conclusion is that this fold is caused by the software. Nikon or Apple? greetings, peter
