That's pretty sweet, Noxin. Now take it over a river like that other guy did. ;-)

I just saw a sweet-looking RC helicopter on the history channel that's designed to carry a camera as its payload. http://www.draganfly.com/uav-helicopter/draganflyer-x6/
I think it was a half-kilo payload limit, though, which rules out even the diminutive D3000. EVIL should work, though.

Jonny our local Police actual have one or in the middle of getting one, and they plan to use it to take pictures of car crash scenes, crime scenes, fires etc.

Shades of Ken Rockwell!
I was looking around for a camera for a buddy of mine whose kid ruined his previous camera. I saw a deal at adorama for $520 for a refurbished D5000 + kit lens and was just idly reading reviews when I found this gem:
I purchased this camera when I found out about the deal. The machine came to me and has worked perfectly right out of the box and I have no complaints.
The image quality is very fine and the color is actually better than my D40.
This refurbished camera is now a good backup to my D40 which I got new from a local camera shop here in Houston.

D5000 as backup to a D40? What hath Ken wrought?!

Here in the UK, the Police use them; well, they have used them; well, they want to use them... Well, they would if they had a license.
Oh just read the link. It made many people smile at the time.

That is too funny, John.

Funny thing our Police RC copter is also grounded for the same reason, first in the paper they announced that they was going to use one, then next they had to admit there was problems with getting a license to fly it

In case you guys have been wondering why Adamz (aka The Predator) hasn't been posting lately it's because he crashed his spanking new Ferrari Italia while driving around Wroclaw, Poland. Apparently he was sending emails from his ipad and didn't see the sausage delivery truck turning in front of him. Oh and it didn't help that he was driving on the wrong side of the road too ;^)

It's sad to see a crashed Ferrari. A rich guy in my neck of the woods crashed he Ferrari Enzo not long after I saw it when driving home from work. It's OK tho, my Mom went to highschool with the guy and said it was OK, he was always rich and crashing nice cars.
EDIT: Woo! Found some photo's: http://auto.commongate.com/post/New_photos_of_the_T-Top_Enzo_destroyed#images

Hey quadrapixel, I have no sympathy for anyone who has more money than brains or driving skill! Whenever I see a wrecked exotic I laugh. Unless it's a rare or historic example. Most of the younger (less than 60yrs old) Ferrari drivers are usually A**holes. The only "nice" Ferrari owners I've come across are the older collectors who are more interested in history then in horsepower. They don't go around revving up the engine at red lights or do burnouts.
Actually most Ferrari "drivers" don't even own the car themselves. The vehicles are actually "owned" by some kind of business identity. So technically the car belongs to a company or investment "group" and not to a single individual.
One guy I knew had his Ferrari registered as a company vehicle. I'm not sure of all the legal mumbo jumbo (he tried explaining it to me) but the car was legally insured and owned by the group of investors who operated the business. So technically any company employee could drive the car. He was just the employee who got to drive it home and leave it in his garage. He called it his Ferrari because he did actually go and buy it but the car wasn't under his name.
Think of it this way, not even Magnum P.I owned his famous Ferrari. He just got to drive it around all day! :^)

I've had my gravatar for over a year now and you're barely noticing it?!? Yes I am a motorsports "enthusiast". Yes I'll be watching the Lime Rock race, the Laguna Seca race, the Indy 500 (one of the rare times I'll watch an oval race) and the Turkish F1 race this weekend. Yes I know Fomula One is coming to TEXAS - YEEHAW!!!
No I will not be watching the Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR race. Well maybe if the Indy500 gets rained out or something. Yes I have a special place in my heart for "old school" Corvettes (I hated the C4! The C5 and C6 are OK but I'm hoping the C7 gets it just right). Extra brownie points if you can guess the year of the Corvette in my Gravatar :^)
And yes, I know that's the 2004 Raybrig NXS from the JGTC in your gravatar :^)

Yes it's a C3 Corvette but which year specifically :^)
You can get instructions on how to get your own "Gravatar" in the Forum Rules & FAQ. It's labeled under "How to change your profile picture (Avatar):"

Oh and by the way I was sitting in the drivers seat while triggering the camera so you've been staring at a real picture of me this whole time! :^)

Hey guys, had a question and didn't think that a new thread was needed for it, I watched the James Nachtwey movie and took notice that he had a case that he loaded his rolls of film into and was wondering what they were and where I can find some. I'm trying to find a better way to carry my film around with me and thought this would be great if I can find some to pick up.

No, I've noticed the Corvette, I've just never talked to you about it.
Haha, so you're quite the car enthusiast.
My father's a mechanic, so I'm pretty knowledgeable about cars as well.
Yes, the Raybrig NSX is a cool car.
