Congrats again, Tcole. She's beautiful. I figure in what, 16 years, she'll start asking for a mirrorless D9 with integrated Wi-Fi, GPS, cellphone & anti-theft alert.
With an f/0.9 5-500 mm zoom!

Photographor ... the health warnings at the end ("Can lead to neck pain and dizziness") are too good!
bjrichs that was pretty funny.
tcole, cute picture, congrats again
admin, I wish your wife a speedy recovery, take care of your family, as said before we will be here when you return (hopefully we don't mess up the house too bad, lol).
Thanks everyone. She is a handful so far...IE me up at 1:50am on NR ;), but I love her and I think it will get better. We are also learning, so there is a curve for us as well.
@scoobysmak - I'm just a mod, not admin :) - and I'll be watching You guys :)
We promise to be on our bestest behaviour adamz :-) I hope your wife gets better soon.

Promises, promises, some of us just cannot get the two year old out of us, even though we are very close to 70...
And Adamz, "just a mod" is a great gift to us all. Thanks. In that same mode, I am thinking about jonnyapple. No reply. It seems doubtful he would have just dropped out of the forum as his level of responsibility was very high in the past. Is it time to say something about him?
Happy Easter to all of You!
And to you adamz, and to everyone here!
Yes, Happy Easter....
But also, welcome back jonnyapple! We missed you!
Oh boy - I just got my order for a D7000 accepted - £749 after cash back. I can't wait for it to arrive, should be end of next week.
Woo-hoo!
Congrats, Andrew.
Thanks, msmoto.
Not something to really really worry about but I'm curious anyway- is the plastic cover on the on camera flash supposed to yellow as your camera gets older?
Probably won't make a huge difference unless its really yellow (look how orange a CTO gel has to be), but it will probably throw off your image just a bit. I wouldn't worry about it to much for the pop-up flash. Your probably using it w/ incandescents anyway.
"Im off P mode and feel like shooting wide open all the time."
How did i miss this video.
I need more funny photography vids today. Im off work and feeling lazy. Plus the rain is keeping me inside.
AAARGH! I just had a 'conversation' with a Nikon drone who said that the D7000 was only out of stock for a little while last year, it should be fine now. I explained that two of the larger outlets in the UK hadn't had any for months and he said he didn't know why.
Is it just me or has customer service gone back to the 1970's lately?

Are you really in need for a D7000?

The D7000 has got a lovely sensor; sensible file size, good resolution, low noise and good dynamic range plus the U1 & U2 facility is going to be very useful to me, so yes I suppose I do.
I know you use a D90 NSX - don't you have a D700 too or am I imagining that?

Incorrect, I use a D40, a Coolpix 3700 and a FM2 (incredibly rarely). :D
But I don't get it, why can't you just put your name on a waiting list and plunk money down on it and they'll ship it when they get stock? That's how I bought my 35mm 1.8.
Oh yes, I'd love a D7000. D700 would be nice too, but I have 2 DX lenses, what am I going to do with those?
But the price! I'm waiting for a D7000 replacement so it drops in price down to around a D90 price I hope.
Sorry - my bad I meant to type D7000 not D700. Ah yes, you use a D40 - I remember now.
I have plonked my money down and am waiting for it to come in, but I am seeing so many instances of broken promises on this forum that I am getting twitchy. I have a trip coming up to Bruges in Belgium and I would really like to have it in time for that.
I have a mixture of FX and DX lenses too but I will not switch soley to FX - maybe I will get a D700 to run in parallel to my DX one day.
Spraynpray - Be sure and watch the movie before you go.

Ah, that would make sense. I remember I got the D40 the day before the NY Auto Show. Went in and raised my ISO so high my photos were unusable.
Hope you get your camera!
Willis- I don't get what you mean.
I know what Willis means, that one was depressingly funny - just like anguishingly waiting for your D800 while watching all the NPS getting buggy ones.
