Thanks for cleaning up your post Alpha :^) You didn't have to delete it completely though.
Here's info on Google Wave
http://wave.google.com/help/wave/about.htmlI've been testing it out for a while now and it's....different

I'm kind of with Nikodoby and alpha on this one. While I don't post in this thread either, every forum I've ever seen has at least one section where members talk about anything...sort of an off topic discussion area.
Now that I've said that, let's see how long it takes me to get into trouble for sharing an opinion that's contrary to the those who run the forum lol

not too long gentoo :P

Thanks for the support Gentoo, but back on topic !!! :^) Have you gone fishing or seen Google Wave, or spoken gibberish lately or have you been Three Standard Deviations from the mean?
Again let's just have some fun with this post and don't take it sooooooo seriously :^)

Would you let your kids play with a large UFO shaped helium balloon that you've got anchored in your backyard? What could go wrong right?

Netbeans IDE 6.7.1 is real nice.. just installed it.. Has improved a lot since I last looked at it. Should be fun knocking out a couple of programs. LOL closed it without saving and lost all my changes .. :-) oh well.. start again .. now where is that save all files thingi ?
PS for those who dont know Netbeans is used for programing Java application and web pages and applications for your mobile phone among other things...
Posted 3 years ago # -
So what are you using it for hearty?
Posted 3 years ago # -
Not too much.. just playing really.. need to analyse about a thousand or so excel files in some backup directory and thought it would be fun to do it in java. Have been thinking of trying to write some programs for my mobile phone which this tool can knock out. Have also been thinking about creating a nice web tool that lets users search through lenses that they are interested in and compare them graphically in 3d. thought Java would be the easiest tool to use to get that done.... just random ideas. probably wont get less than half of it done before I start trying out Ruby on Rails! LOL.

Well good luck with it.

This guy almost gets hit by a bus! Let's just pretend it was filmed by a Nikon D3S traffic camera.
Be careful crossing the street everybody.
[+] Embed the video | Video Download Get the Flash Video There's an "In Soviet Russia" joke somewhere in all of this but I can't think of one

@NikoDoby:
I though I'd continue here since you say I shouldn't post in that thread. You're right, I should have though twice before going into that thread, but that's not the first one! You sort of have a record— http://nikonrumors.com/forum/topic.php?id=574#post-7926 *cough cough*
BTW, I did not have a bad day at all! Everything went great today, I saw my friends, etc. etc.
Posted 3 years ago # -
??? not sure what your beef with me is alpha. I don't think I've done anything rude to you. I clearly said you shouldn't watch the PG video. The whole point of my post was to identify the Nikon camera in it. And as for your link, are you refering to adamz's use of bad language? That's the post I see when I click your link. Come to think of it this is the only forum that allows kids under 18 to be members and I'm starting to understand why that is now :^(
Posted 3 years ago # -
Then that's the wrong post you see. This is the one I'm talking about:
"No way jbl NO WAY!!! I'm in complete SHOCK!!! I can't believe porn has editing?! That is just pure crazy talk ;^)
I guess you took a lot of your "work" home with you, didn't you?Alphanikonrex and the rest of you kids out there; Earmuffs! Earmuffs! Adults talking here ;^)"
Can we avoid topics like that? I feel like I can't turn every corner safely. Like I said, if you want to discuss stuff like that, MARK the post as something that I should not even peek into. You haven't done anything terrible yet, but you never know. I'm just taking precaution for myself.
Posted 3 years ago # -
Back to the other post I made about Posting Rules: They are in need to be done. BTW Alpha I think in this day and age, the mention of certain words should not be news/shock to you, unless you walk around your school with earmuffs on
I think that it is great that a younger person starts an interest in Photographic. I have started to involve my 9 yr old son also, he has the use of a D80 now, and does know how to use it

Exactly! I'm interested in photography! Not the other stuff. And actually, my school is pretty good with things like that. You only have classes with kids on your team, which consists of about 100 students. They make the teams based on kid's personalities and characteristics, and so most of the kids I'm with on Omega 8 don't appreciate stuff like that like me.

On the other hand I don't really think that we have went to far really that much, but some moderation and rules would not hurt
Are you in member of an actual camera club. Our club here in Red Deer(app 40 members) allowed my son to join and have been very helpful at showing Mark what to do and have looked at his pictures
Pete
Posted 3 years ago # -
No, I'm not part of an actual club. Do you think I should look into one?
Posted 3 years ago # -
Alpha I understand your concern about what you "see" or don't "see" but that's something you need to talk to your parents about not us. It's up to them to decide if this forum is too "risque" for a child to be participating in. And if they say it is then I'm sorry but that's their choice and you'll have to follow it.
I think I went above and beyond to point out to you that you shouldn't click the video link. I doubt anyone here would have done that before all of this happened. Instead of thanking me for the warning, which you eventually did in another thread, you started CAPS LOCKING and telling me my post is stupid and that I have a "history" of posting things that will get you "banned" from the internet.(???)
I know your a kid and I'm use to dealing with tantrums but I think it was very rude of you to do the same thing to mb on his thread just because he links to a photoshop story which features a model in a swimsuit. Perhaps you shouldn't be in a photography forum with other adults who will tend to discuss "adult topics" if such things are going to give you a high level of anxiety.
Remember that just because you might live on "Sesame Street" it doesn't mean the rest of the world does :^(
Posted 3 years ago # -
Sorry Niko—I've calmed down now. I'm sorry to mb as well. But, no, I do not live on Sesame Street. Maybe closer to, but definitely not on. And what I a lot of what I see is determined by myself. If I wanted, I could look at crazy stuff. But I'm not that kind of person.
I'm mainly just trying to protect myself. It's just that if we're going to share this "clubhouse," then we have to get along together. If it's also going to have adult topics, then maybe minors should not be allowed in this club. I'll leave, and that'll be then end of that.
This ties in very well to the rules we need to make. As long as I and other kids are here, you're going to have to make rules to protect us. Like I don't mind you having you're adult fun "in the other room." Go ahead, I just don't want to be part of that.
Whatever needs to be done should be done. If that means making an entirely new [NR] Jr. Forum, fine. It's just I don't want to be part of a club where I don't feel comfortable.

You are welcome here Alpha, but keep in mind this is the intertubz and there are scantly clad women here. If you don't like a post, then it's prob best to keep it to your self.
However a "NSFW" (not suitable for work) tag could be useful here like http://www.videosift.com has for video's that would not be good to share with your coworkers or those under 18.
Posted 3 years ago # -
That's all that I wanted! Thank you QuadraPixel! Now can you explain that to everybody else?
Posted 3 years ago # -
Yeah that's what I mean alpha. I personally wouldn't allow my child to "hang out" in any forum unsupervised. Especially if they were the only "kid" in the forum (even though your not), but I think your "anxiety" is more about your family's values and how you want to honor that rather then how "wild and crazy" this forum is. Because honestly this place is as tame (and boring) as your going to see a forum behave.
No I take that back the Leicarumors forum is extremely tame :^)
