Samsung has just made a 12MP with 3X Zoom camera/cell phone. I would call it a P & S camera with a build in cell phone, not like my cell phone with a crappy 3MP camera and dig zoom

OK I know that it has a crappy 12MP sensor that you can get in their $ 90.00 P & S camera, but it will be the best cell phone camera yet

Now what if you had a decent Camera Brand supplying the camera part and MOTO or Nokia the phone side. I really think a decent Camera/Phone could be made. OK being a Nikon Forum lets start with the touchscreen S70 and have Motorola add a cell phone to it with speakers, mic at the proper place and here you have a decent camera/cell phone

I don't know about you but I always have my phone on me, but not always my P & S camera

Not really. But hey, if they can do so successfully, why not?

More sales for them = cheaper equipment for us.

Sorry NikoDoby I missed that one, but at work I was looking at the Nikon S60 and kind of wondering how this would be like if it was also a Cell Phone. I do think that their will be huge market for higher quality Camera/Cell phones and why could Nikon not be part of it. I would not be surprised if you we see one from Panasonic

I think Nikon could partner up and provide optics for Nokia or something. Sure why not? Or how about they include the S1000pj projector module in a cellphone?

the question then becomes, would a call made with a D700 sound better than a call from a D90?

Oh no!

Think about the confusion that'll cause!

Should I get a D700 with better IQ and worse CQ (call quality) or a D90 with worse IQ and better CQ?

Or how about a Canon 5D Mark III with HD CQ?

putting cell phone functionality in to DSLR makes more sense to me then putting so called kick a55 camera in a phone

But remember, there's always got to be compromises!

How is video is DSLRs compared to camcorders?

How are grabbed frames from camcorders compared to DSLR photos?

Look at cell phone cameras!

Cell phones in DSLRs are probably going to really suck. I'd rather have an iPhone anyday.

Looks like there will be a 20MP 720p HD video camera mobile phone sooner than we thought!

A Leica cameraphone would most probably be stuck inside a massive rotary dial phone and be priced $10,000 above everyone else just because they feel like it. And probably it will have no viewfinder. :D
