Not sure what the plant's name is, but it is not a dandelion
Weird, it looks so much like a dandelion :-)
where there’s smoke there’s forum fire
Took this photo while I was in Arizona visiting Sedona. The actual location where this was taken was a very neat city called Jerome, which is a very old mining town.

Shot from the mission trip last week in Guatemala. The little girl has no siblings, and there wasn't enough construction work to keep the girl on our team occupied (plus, she has no construction experience), so they were sisters for the week.
Also, dang is this little 85mm f/1.8G a blast. Such sharpness sharpness, even wide open. I'm sure I'll find something worthwhile to do with the cost I saved by not getting the f/1.4G...

One more fireworks picture from me.
Shot on a tripod in Bulb mode. I am amazed at the dynamic range.

@corelli - Do you process manually or use software? These days I start with Lightroom 4 and go from there with manual tweaks and brushes.

My first focus stack, inspired by the recent bug photos. The fly was the only thing that was standing still on something stationary, so he got to be the star. I realize now I should have taken more images, with more focal lengths, to eliminate the bokeh around its legs. Ten images was not enough!
Wow, I'm pretty late on JohnnyApple's new bundle of joy, but congratulations anyway!
Wow elvish- nice focus stack! I honestly don't mind the bokeh on the rear legs. It brings the focus back on the head, which was the point of the focus stack anyway.
Forgive me for the upper left hand corner, I was too excited when I saw this light streaming through the clouds. I couldn't get a better shot than this.
Brilliant shot, Eric. I love the colors and all the light cast around the crowd from the fireworks. I especially like how green it all is.

I use Aperture for the normal adjustments (e.g. whitebalance, exposure, contrast, curves etc). The only other software I use are SilverEfex and FilmPack, both for b&w conversion. Maybe one day I will try stuff like HDR or stacks, but I did not do that so far.
@SquamishPhoto - Thanks! I was pleased that it turned out.
@ElvisHefer - Incredible. I have never tried that technique, Now I'm inspired...Thanks!

Eric do you live in Napa? If so, it look like you where at Silverado Country Club...yes?
Another "Fourth of July" photo..... the dad was actually getting into the shot for his wife with her iPhone.
When I shoot these shots of kids, I always give the email address for my website, in order to avoid any problems of suspicion regarding the photography of young children. At least in the USA, there is a high index of suspicion in this area if once tries to simply shoot and run.
Re: The photos on PAD continue to offer not only great work but an educational aspect.....focus stacking may have to ry this.... phenomenal results.
Last one from my 4th pictures... Marching out of the Colors.
Beautiful shots everyone!

here is the last fireworks for this fourth-of-July. Promised :). I just wanted to show a variation because the foreground is better in this snap.
